Jeff and Edna are looking good because they are playing each other. Wait until one of them plays Minnetonka at State!PoNd HocKey ChAmP67 wrote:Edina and Jefferson are both looking good though, but I would of really liked to see Burnsville come out of that sectionnipeshow18 wrote:Ha, fair enough!PoNd HocKey ChAmP67 wrote: Well I wanted to see if i could get at least one prediction right

Funny how some people on the bored make themselves read like classless idiots. You show great sportsmanship bluebloodblueblood wrote:I've got some seats in section 2 for you and the ep team.
The boys from Tonka won't be needing them.
If you can't afford them, the HHF will be glad to have you over also....
Adios EP!!!!!

Let me guess ..... loud mouth cocky hockey dad/self-acknowledged expert, yells at coaches, bitches at refs., been kicked out of rinks multiple times during youth hockey ...... sound like you? Grow up dude.
I liked Tonka before. After reading your junk, I will be sure to cheer on any team that plays the Skippers in the state tournament.
Just got home from the Target Center... Tonka appeared to start slow and then wore down EP and took advantage of the chances they had. EP's 2nd goal was a gimee when Kruger thought he had the puck but it came free for w wode open goal.
Rau is a nice player but Tonka matched him with Shutt and the 2nd line like they've done against every other team's 1st line for most of the season and it seemed to work. I was surprised how much Tonka skated their 3rd line as they regular ice.
I don't think 7-2 really represented the game as it was closer than that. Then again the shots were almost even but I thought Tonka had the better chances. Kruger played very well in net for Tonka.

Easy on blueblood as the EP Nation was doing a bit of chest thumping prior to the game but I agree his post game comments might be a bit much of "in your face".breakout wrote:Funny how some people on the bored make themselves read like classless idiots. For 2 periods the game was in question and once Tonka made it 5-2 that was pretty much the end as EP's effort seemed to dwinddle (is that a word?).
Nice run by EP as they had a great 2nd half and stepped up, Tonka needs to now show that they are worthy of the #1 seed as EP has already been there done that and won it which is something Tonka has never done.

Agree with the Gov on this one Breakout. Blueblood is generally pretty cool. There were some real EP homer dopes that BB may have re-acted a little too harshly to.Gov78 wrote:Easy on blueblood as the EP Nation was doing a bit of chest thumping prior to the game but I agree his post game comments might be a bit much of "in your face".breakout wrote:Funny how some people on the bored make themselves read like classless idiots. Both teams are good but when Tonka fires on all cylinders as they did in the second two periods of the game tonight they are a very difficult customer as the offense comes from everywhere. Kruger looked a little shakey in the beginning but most of the kids did. He settled in very nicely after the first... Thought Tonka's first line looked very dominant tonight. Not sure anyone can match that line... Third line started slow (2 goals against I think) but got with the program towards the middle... Prochno was fantastic tonight I thought...
I didn't see the first period, but in the second and third, I was surprised, especially when Tonka was down, that Urick ran all three lines as much as he did. They all looked strong in the third. Also, he put some young kids on the penalty kill who did an outstanding job against a solid power play. I had a hard time finding a weakness in this team by the end of the game. We'll see if they can make a run.
thanks for your support
Hey-
If you've been on this board before, you know that FredFlintston is an EP guy who makes some big. bold statements.
I did not post anthing before the gane about tonka winning. I just responded to FF's comments in this post that he made pre-game and also supported HHF's offer to have the ep boys to his house.
RELAX FRANCIS!

Congratulations Tonka on your first state championship! Seriously Ford was absolutely porous and EP pretty much gave up after it went to 4-2. Shots were 34-33 Tonka and 7-2 didn't really represent the whole game, just the last half of the third. Rau was disappointing because he never passed. Oh well, we'll probably be ranked back on top next year if everyone comes back. Good season boys!
EP two out of three.

Don't blame me. Blame the Mayan's. Atleast I will be able to sleep knowing that there is a good chance the world won't end in 2012.blueblood wrote:Hey-

Freddie, after driving most of us nuts the last few months you really gave me a good belly laugh on that last post. Good to see the EP folks are great sports. You have a heck of a team but Tonka is just too strong and it may be their year... We will have to wait a week to see if it pans out on them.FREDFLINTSTONE wrote:Don't blame me. Blame the Mayan's. One last interesting point on the game. I too was disappointed the way EP just seemed to give up after the two goal lead. Tonka never let the game get away from them. They kept it a one goal game despite some bad bounces in the first. They maintained their composure incredibly well until they got through the first period jitters. It is interesting to note that given EP's tremendous track record of success it is possible that they were very uncomfortable when the score flipped and Tonka went in the lead by two. Not sure EP has ever been in this situation before as they have been so successful in the big tournaments in the games that count over the last 4-5 years. Being down in a section final and being outplayed (after the first period and a half) was probably completely foreign to them. I will bet if you ask the Tonka coach he wouldn't trade the Edina loss and Wayzata ties for all the tea in China right now. Tonka never let up last night like they did against Edina when up 4-0 and Wayzata when up 3-2 with a minute to go. I though Rau was a no show and overhandled the puck. However, EP will recover and I am sure will have a good showing next year. They are a good team with really great kids that have accomplished a lot more than most teams ever accomplish in a hockey career... Hat's off to both teams for a fun game last night. Thanks again to Myfoxhockey.com!

Tonka looked incredible. EP played a really nice first half game though, just couldn't hang in the 2nd half.HockeyMN1 wrote:Congratulations Tonka on your first state championship! As for Rau, kid was amazing. He actually passed REALLY WELL. I was watching him religiously throughout the game and he was putting amazing passes right on teammates sticks and they were blowing it. Often I don't think they were expecting the puck to get there. I think he got quite frustrated at the end of the game (and started passing less? maybe).

I agree.
Tonka was the stonger team here. EP looked young and not able to handle Tonka's physical play. Tonka's goalies was letting some big rebounds that EP didn't get any chances to score upon. EP has a number of juniors playing and their senior players just didn't step up and score. Unlike last year, EP had a 1st line that didn't give up goals against other 1st line teams and rolled Rau, Rogge and Wolf against other 2nd lines and scored goals. Tonka played this same method having the Max G. against EP's second line. I think EP's 2nd line gave at least four goals. Tonka is graduating four D1 players. Look for EP next year as I think the Lake and Section 6 will be down, except for Wayzata.

Unless Rau leaves his senior year like his brother Chad did. I predict it will happen.Lakeviewing wrote:Tonka was the stonger team here. EP looked young and not able to handle Tonka's physical play.
