Whining vs. No Whining
As a first year user of this forum, I have observed a substantial degradation in the quality of the posts as the season progresses into playoffs. I used to enjoy reading the opinions of many others, the majority of which actually had intelligent, informative or at least entertaining points of view. Lately, this forum has become much less attractive, which I believe is due to the various and sundry petty gripes of those players and fans of teams who fail to advance in the playoff format used in this state.
Accordingly, I offer this poll for the benefit of the forum monitors, who, depending on the results, may wish to adopt rules of censorship to make this forum a destination place for those who appreciate meaningful and challenging dialogue, and to consider establishing a separate forum for those whose tastes lean more toward demagoguery.

Heresie...
It's called maturity.... Lee and I have shared thoughts about how easy it is to understand why there are nations at war. Constructive criticism get misinterpreted... then it leads to name calling.....
... and if you don't believe me, heresie, maybe you might want to step outside with me!!!
I totally wish we could have a forum with constructive dialogue, too, but it means that Lee has to monitor every post of every thread.... and.....that is impossible for a volunteer to do.... It gets hard when people get completely ripped for having passionate opinions.
I appreciate all the time and effort he already puts in...

This is a joke right?? Of course there is going to be winners and losers of each games. Part of a forum is to discuss and try to argue your points in the game you are talking about. Of course, not all of it is valid, which usually makes it interesting, and sometimes can get a bit out of hand, but thats what makes it a forum. Its Minnesota, Its High School Hockey, need I say more?

There really isn't any need for the personal attacks....
P.S. Teaker...... I am sorry... I just caught your comment:
"why do the other teams play harder when they play my team." = priceless, man.. priceless..

Thats one thing we can both agree on. I dont like personal attacks, but I do enjoy coming on here and trying to argue my points. Its a forum, and if you dont like it, dont look at it. Simple enough.mnhockeynemn wrote:This is a joke right?? Of course there is going to be winners and losers of each games. Maybe all of you Non Whiners, Non-Attackers, Non-complaining people ought to start a boring forum of your own. If you can't ignore the people who put ridiculous posts here and laugh, you shouldn't "whine" about the "whiners". Concerning the personal attacks" Stupid" people make "stupid" posts, but you have to admit that some of the bashing is funny and not personal. As usual, and it seems at all levels, that come playoffs, the worst come out of some of the fans. That's Minnesota High School Hockey. I would have to agree that the administrators can't read every thread posted here.
I agree with that statement.bronco2828 wrote:Maybe all of you Non Whiners, Non-Attackers, Non-complaining people ought to start a boring forum of your own. Well, one thing that I can agree on is that our word for it is whining, which rhymes with 'dining'. The Brits call it whinging, from the word whinge, which rhymes with 'binge'. So, instead of 'wine-ing', Brits are 'win-jing'.
I'm glad the Brits don't play Minnesota high school hockey!

Shhhhh, need to be quiet. If not, this thread could get sent to .... The Cafe!!!!! (A fate worse than locking.)

point to prove????nickmon3 wrote:Agreed. If i didnt have a point to prove i wouldnt ever log on.dirtracing17 wrote:this would be so boring if everyone agreed with eachother
Points are not proven. They are rationalized and when you try to rationalize your opinion to irrational people it is a waste of your time. The key is to have an idea about person's abilities to rationalize a logical thought. Most of the biggest whiners are irriational people that use zero logic when they are arguing why their team is the best and got screwed in the semi finals of sections and they should be at the state tourney instead of another team. A logical person would realize the reason their team isn't at state is because of their shortsightedness of rooting or playing for the wrong team.
