Not by any means predicting anything here, but LN is capable of pulling off a spoiler. They did beat Jefferson at BIG. Again, not predicting....

4-3 Lakeville, winning goal from Eruzione.
I will bring this classic back out again....

I would expect Coach Brian Urick to call off the dogs, but after a 7-2 victory over Eden Prairie, do we know what the largest margin of goals is in a state tourney game?

Lakeville vs Tonka

Post by Lakeviewing »

A mid Lake Conference team vs a a Tonka team. This will be running time by the third period. Sorry, Lakeville got to the State based upon a poor Section. They finished well below a Ep, Burnsville, Jefferson teams which best defines what a joke Sectional play seems,

Ok enough of this nonsense that Tonka is going to win 10-0 or whatever rediculous score you guys are predicting. Minnetonka knows they are way better than LV and they are going to come out playing like all they need to do is show up, obviously they are going to win, but not by anywhere near 9 or 10 goals. Final score Minnetonka 3 LV 0. Lakeville's goalie is going to play somewhere in the likes of what Alex Kangas did to Moorhead back in 04 when he stopped like 60 something shots, so yes Minnetonka wins but be realistic.....

lakeviewing, do you think you could keep the bashing to the forums allready dedicated to that subject? I'm pretty sure everyone knows how you feel. As for the game, its hard for me to imagine North staying within 4 goals of tonka. Just to large a gap in talent.[/quote]

There is no possible way Minnetonka is going to lose to North, Tonka has way to much power and skill, they are all around better than north, if North wins this game this will be one of the biggest upsets in MN HS Hockey history, im going to say the score will be 8-0 or 9-0, easy win for tonka and the 3rd and 4th liners will get more playing time

Snake Dude -
Not many teams have been able to keep the score within 2-3 goals this year. Any Avg teams or teams below .500 they've played have been running time so regardless of how thursday ends up, a 6 goal differential doesn't seem like that unrealistic of a prediction against a team with 15 losses. Wayzata was the only team to hold them to 3 goals during the season so it might be more realistic to predict a little more offense by tonka.
Unless kangas plays of course.

i guess Hopkis had a losing record and kept it out of running time, 5-2 against tonka. Gardiner did not play and Fons stopped 50.
Two weeks later with Gardiner the score was 11-1.

Well, actually EP held them to one goal.

Oh yeah, forgot about the first EP game with the 7-2 game fresh in my head. They were minus Gardiner in that one as well and he is usually a 3 point a game guy so it could have been worse.

I don't know if anybody heard this on TheFan in Duluth yesterday, but Mark Fleischer interviewed Mike Randolph (East head coach). Mike predicted Minnetonka winning it in running time and was pretty clear about it. I cringed a bit hearing Mike's prediction.

Other than the fact there's no running time what didn't you like? Hard to say this won't be lopsided and he'd be less than truthful (even if he wanted to be a good sport about it) by saying it'll be close.

Not saying it can't happen but I'm expecting 7 or 8 to 1.

respect...the sections are a mixed up group of teams. whoever goes to state from their sections, everyone should respect that

I think it will be running time as well, heck the Skippers nearly put the defending state champs and #2 or #3 team depending on the rankings into running time just a week ago. That said it was just last year a very average Moorhead team knocked off the #1 team en route to their runner up finish, it's often times how you're playing now that matters. North looked pretty tough last week.

Yeah, I try never to disrespect a team at state no matter how lopsided the game is.

They earned their trip just like everyone else, let the guys have fun!
