I missed the 3rd goal. Screen froze. Who got it and did Marshall have a hand in it?

3rd Goal - Adams from Marshall & Jordan (PPG)
4th Goal - Rose from Zurn

Mahtomedi 4-0

Messy at the end of the 2nd. Mahtomedi goalie is a wall!!! Nothing getting through.

Marshall did get a quality assist on the 3rd goal.... On a 2-2 rush, he made a great one-timer pass on to Adam's stick, who then deked left, then slid puck tyo his forehand to tuck in past Murphy.

Now 4-0..

Marshall has superior offensive skills, but as I mentioned early in the year, until he learns to sharpen up his defensive end, he will have some issues. He got burned on a breakaway, because he was standing still. He does that often, and he's not physical in front of the net. At 165 lbs, he still has room to grow. I am sure that part of it is that he defensive partners and forwards probably "relax" a bit knowing he's back there, but if he's not on top of the play, Ben will get beat.

The play in the first where he broke into the zone on his off wing and basically did a behind the back pass (like a behind the back dribble) thru his skates to himself in stride, and then angle past the defender to get a shot on goal was as good as it gets.

However, I sure wish Clay Matvidork would get his name right.. he has called him Ben Nelson and Brandon Marshall......

Mitch, Ben Marshall's brother, Sawyer, is the backup, and he's almost as interchangeable as a goalie partner can be... Sawyer is a thicker, bigger goalie that has great hands and angles... Not the quickest goalie, but he's dang good, too.

6-1..

As pretty much all year, Mahtomedi's #1 line has done the damage.

I feel bad for Alex's Murphy in net. he has played pretty well, but 3 or 4 PPGs have led to the demise, on quality shots.

Adams with 3 G, Zurn 2G and Rose 1G. Ben Marshall with 4 assists.

7-1

Mahtomedi's 1st line has every point in the game...with the exception of Marshall...who counts for every line since he never comes off the ice. I think Hermantown or Virginia has a really good shot if they shut down that first line. Plus the Zephyrs don't like to be hit so we'll see how they react to the physical play of these northern teams.

Ouch! That's a thrashing. Hopefully Alex can pull it together in the consolation round.

Mahtomedi beat Virginia 5 - 2 in December. On the range.

Adams had a hat trick and Zurn had a goal. 4 of 5 goals from 1st line forwards.

The Zephs had Murphy's number up high on the blocker side. Good scouting and good shooting. Alex took too many penalties to hang with them. Nice game by adams and that behind the back move by Marshall was the best move I have seen by a D man in HS. EVER. CONGRATS to the Zephs. Go deep in the tourney and go Cards on Thursday

I'm not questioning his game I'm just stating how Alexandria scored

The slow motion wave going up and down the section was pretty entertaining. Too bad they only have one section...
