No.. that's Clay Matvidork that has called him Ben Nelson and Brandon Marshall.... Clay must play alot of fantasy football..

The one thing I am kinda surprised about is how Phil doesn't talk about how Ben plays like Phil did back in HS... Could basically do whatever he wanted with the puck.......the way he controls the PP, his vision, his puck handling skills.... Housleyesque...

haha you have to expect this from announcers ... they make the most obvious statements possible and they talk up the team that is playing well at that point in time and will switch sides as soon as the other team does something

   To all of your complaints that will be posted about Phil Housley and any other media specialist throughout the State Tournament.

I'd bet that the majority of you guys and gals couldn't do any better.

I KNOW I couldn't do any better, which is why I don't normally criticize, especially when it's somebody who doesn't do it for a living. Not to mention, even if I was pretty good at it, I wouldn't have much credibility because I don't have a last name like a Housley or a Nanne.

All that said, some of the comments Housley makes are pretty entertaining, you have to admit. :)

You boys are rough on ol' Phil. He is doing his best. heck give the guy a break for crying out loud. Not a professional announcer so you have to give him a little slack.

Housley

He gets worse every year, and right now, he's announcing like it's 2020.
Mouth full of marbles.
Could you two at least LOOK at a roster before the game?
They learn 2 or 3 guys for each team, the rest, they have no clue on.
They stumble and mumble, and byt he time the play moves on, they haven't gotten the player right, because they are relying solely on numbers.
Good announcers rely very little on numbers, once you see a skater's stride or the way he carries himself, you should know who he is by the end of the first period.
They just seem to put very little effort into knowing anyone other than the stars. No, it's not easy, but I'd rather hear some of the team's local guys doing it than this. At least they'd be smooth on one of the teams.

The difference is Housley is getting paid for it.
