Always a big matchup when you have the chance to knock off your biggest rival for all-time total State Championships.

Roseau is tied with International Falls with 7 titles not Edina. (From MSHSL)
Sure, if you don't include Edina East.

They would have 9 titles if you include east.

I am going to take my mentor's approach -Goldfishdude- and go with the team that:

Wears green
Has an outstanding high school hockey history
Has won several state tournaments before, and
Features an underclassman with a famous last name.

Going to be 100% (1-0) in predictions in this year's tournament after this game.

Hmmm, as in "If the coach can't use a Broten, then his methods are rotten"?

Yes, I did. Thanks for the offer. That was a nice touch on your part, writing an official offer letter in crayon. :?

You know, I don't want to nit-pick here, but don't forget the letter 'e' faces the other direction, towards the rising sun, not away from it.

He's good. His roster spot is deserved.

Why oh why do they always have to call icing so ridiculously tight at the tourney? Just irritates me.

Nanne is a pretty good player

5-2 in the final minute of the 2nd period. Guess I can probably start watching the copy of "2112" I got today. :(

Should of been a whistle on the third goal.

Doesn't help that Roseau's 1st line centerman and leading scorer has been out since the 2nd period. Either way, it's been a sloppy game for Roseau to say the least.

Losing Omdahl definitely did not help - but, Roseau played too sloppy, and overall were too slow for a game like this today!

Anyone know what happened to Omdahl?

Losing him sure didn't help an already thin team. Edina won this game with their depth. Knochenmus and Erickson created some good chances, but the Roseau D was outclassed and Kvidt let in a few too many softies. About what I expected, I'm afraid.

Looks like East is the north's only hope in AA this year.

Congrats, Teak, on the accurate prediction today. 1-0.... Good for you, my man..

I had trouble keeping my eyes open in the beginning in the second... I woke up to a 3-1 score....... Then I hear the noise of 4-1.... Then next I hear Edina score 6-2, with Roseau scoring immediately for a 6-3.... Closed my eyes again for the 7-3 final...

Sad thing is that, I was closing my eyes, because I was tired.... How many Roseau fans were clsoing their eyes due to what was happening on the ice??

I know I was closing my eyes every time a Roseau D-Man didn't pick up his forward in front of the net. Unfortanately, my eyes were closed the vast majority of the game.

It looked like Omdahl was hit into the boards with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd, I thought it could've been a check from behind call or at least boarding call. Omdahl tried to come back for a shift in the 2nd, but didn't play at all in the 3rd and he looked to be favoring his shoulder on the bench.

Regardless, every year Roseau amazes me with the ability to play at such a high level with 300+ students... I would assume there is a JV team for boys and girls.. if so, you're looking at 60+ kids out of the 300+ that play hockey.....

Yes, congrats to Roseau for making it to state again. That small school deserves respect for their history and consistency in putting together a competitive squad at a level above their school population.

Congrats to Edina for making it to the semi's. It would be ironic if this team won state considering they were not considered as good as the team from two years ago (when Budish was a junior).

And congrats to Teak, for retiring from predicting outcomes with a 100% record (1-0). The team in green, with the outstanding history, and several state titles, AND a famous-name player (Nanne), won.

Watching some guys trying to get a book shelf into the room next to my cubicle. It won't fit; they won't give up.

Way to go out on top, Jimmy The Teak... But more importantly, great job of sitting there watching, and laughing while these guys fail to get the book shelf in the room... I would lose all respect for you if you offered to help..

I initially heard he separated his shoulder, but now heard it was a severe bruise.
