Their amateur team used to be calling the Clover Leafs and competed with the Warroad Lakers and Thief River Falls Thieves back in the dayACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:greenwaveflicker wrote:can anyone tell me what Roseau's nickname was before the Rams?

This is actually one of the (very) few name changes that was for the better.ACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:greenwaveflicker wrote:can anyone tell me what Roseau's nickname was before the Rams?

Most alumni find it offensive when the youth players are called Rams.Goldfishdude wrote:To the best of my memory, the Roseau youth program wears blue uniforms, not green and white, because they stress what a privilege and honor it is to wear the green and white HS jersey...
The Blue and White comes from the VFW sponsoring the Bantams. The peewees have always wore blue and white and the squirts switched to it 25+ years ago.

.. and quite honestly... I think it's awesome it gets approached like that. There are some White Bear youth coaches that absolutely love how the Roseau HS has that mentality... makes the kids work harder.ACTUALFORMERPLAYER wrote:Most alumni find it offensive when the youth players are called Rams.Goldfishdude wrote:To the best of my memory, the Roseau youth program wears blue uniforms, not green and white, because they stress what a privilege and honor it is to wear the green and white HS jersey...

The is very cool and good idea ... adds an aura and mystique to the HS team that the rest of the association has to strive for.Goldfishdude wrote:.. and quite honestly...
