SOG: Hill 24-9 Tonka

Going to OT, 1-1.

The Minnetonka players just don't seem to be moving their feet. What happened? Was their Lakeville North game that much of an energy-drainer? I would think that Hill would have been more tired after their close game with Duluth East.

No tourney is complete without the night game going to some extra OT's. 8)

Yeah. Finally, Tonka got some shots on goal. The sophomore Baskin is the hardest-working forward this game. Ulrick needs to give him some first line shifts with Gardiner.

And I'm sure Edina hopes this one will go to, oh, about ten OT's. :)

It will be a shame if HM loses this game, they have handed Tonka their tails and would already be home if it wasn't for that Tonka goalie.

Now that's more like it. Finally some good back-and-forth action. The refereeing has been a joke. 0 penalties? Really? Checks from behind, trips in the slot, goalie bowling. They better not call a penalty from this point on. Jim Kruger has been sensational. Can anyone raise the puck? We shall see. I'm calling Erik Baskin with the game winner.

That's my choice also. Either that, or he creates a chance for someone else.

Agreed. HM's defense has been solid-- hope it continues into the 2nd OT

Is it just me or does anyone else think Eurich is very cocky? From his interview in this game to his reaction about the Lakeville game yesterday. Then again it may just be me and the fact that Minnetonka isn't playig there game as he keeps stressing. Either way what a great game to end the day! Go H-M you deserve it!

I like it that the refs are letting the kids just play...i haven't seen anything that that they SHOULD have called... of course they could call every little play...but come on--the kids are playing hard and clean.

Kicked in? Deflected in? Doesn't it require a kicking motion??

Rules:
1. Ref is right.
2. If you think the ref is wrong, see rule #1.

Okay, on the replay I can see that it was DIRECTED in. Cannot.

In college/pro hockey, that's a goal. You can direct it in, just can't kick it.

Not quite the angle Gardiner would have liked, but still an excellent scoring chance right there.
