Knochenmus ties tourney's single game assist record
Adam Knochenmus tied his coach Aaron Broten for the state tourney record of most assists in a single game. He had five in the 7-5 win for Roseau against Blaine during the round 2 consolation game. Roseau had a 6 goal third period. I guess an assist on an empty net goal does not count? So Adam had five instead of six assists that game.
Adam is playing in the USHL for Sioux Falls next year in order to get a year of juniors under his belt before college.

You are right I was at that game. Proctor was playing Mora/Hinckley-Finlayson which was my high school.nstars4ever wrote:Sorry to burst the bubble of excitement, but according to the records in the state tourney program the record is actually six (6) assists. Set by Dom Talarico, Proctor, 1997.
Let's Play Hockey
i dont recognize any class a records and its a joke that they put the two in the same catagory considering the serious seperation in talent level from one team to the next its like watching the girls tournament that needs a first round play in for tv viewing. all reachable records will eventually be broke by class a and when that happens i suspect they will seperate the two. on the subject of knock hes a great kid with an outstanding attitude who comes to play every game and never qiuts. i thought he had a great tournament and it was too bad he was left off of the all tournament team but in the end who really cares about that anyway.

There isn't a separation of talent, there is a differential in depth. Many of the states top players play in Class A.watchdog wrote:i dont recognize any class a records and its a joke that they put the two in the same catagory considering the serious seperation in talent level from one team to the next its like watching the girls tournament that needs a first round play in for tv viewing. all reachable records will eventually be broke by class a and when that happens i suspect they will seperate the two. on the subject of knock hes a great kid with an outstanding attitude who comes to play every game and never qiuts. i thought he had a great tournament and it was too bad he was left off of the all tournament team but in the end who really cares about that anyway.

He would still be one of the top three players in the state. He would still be a projected first round pick. Talent is talent. He probably wouldn't have as many points because as I said class AA teams have more lines with average players on their teams. He definitely benefited from playing teams that might only have one or two lines. I won't debate that. However, it is absolutely ridiculous that you write off players because there is only one A next to their tournament. Do you honestly believe that he wouldn't have been so highly praised had he played on a AA team? Do you forget that he led the elite league in scoring in the summer? Don't be so ignorant as to dismiss class A players as second class hockey talent.watchdog wrote:ya your right warrior im sure Brock would have lite it up like he did in class a playing at the AA level down at state. do you seriously believe the crap you write?
i would never do such a thing nelson is an outstanding hockey player so are many other single A players. my post didnt down grade any single A player what so ever. my point was that the state tourney records should be seperated because of the huge diffrence in team talent and individual talent. your statements sound alot more diased than mine like thier arent any good AA players. Most of the best players are in single A ( you said). start looking up the statistics on that statement its not even in the ball park of close. which most would expect after all AA is for larger schools thus having moooooooore hockey players soooooooo odds are in thier favor. well why argue the obvious anyway after all your always and i mean always gona have those that cant see THE OBVIOUS!!!!! hell they should just throw the girls stats in with the boys after all it is hockey and it is a state tournament why should it matter that every year two teams put up like 45 goal in one tourney stats are stats right?

It was just a section competition. Only AA section 8 would have to go. It's not like all A players went to Warroad either. But it certainly is a close enough drive for all those AA Roseau Rams to reach and teach Warroad hot to play some AA hockey right?hipcheck wrote:Ya, like all the good AA players are going to travel to Warroad on a Tuesday night to play against A competition. Might as well have the game in St. Cloud and see how many good A players show up on a Tuesday night.
