South Suburban Conference

Post by hockeyjunkie2 »

New conference starts up next year. What are your thoughts and predictions? Should be very competitive at the top with Eagan, Jefferson, Apple Valley, Burnsville, and the two Lakeville schools. The bottom half with have some clear bottom feeders with Rosemount, Eastview, Kennedy, and Prior Lake. It seems pretty clear cut who the top 6 are and the bottom 4.

Not much to say really, we lose Chaska and EP and gain Prior Lake and like you said the top six will battle it out for first and the bottom four will battle it out to stay out of the toilet bowl...GO EAGAN CATS !! I hope we schedule a non conferene game against EP !!

Speaking of EP.

HHF - How was the AA state tourney viewing party at your house? Did Freddy Rockhead show up?

EP gang had a great time at HHF's though the sinking of the Minnow dampened our spirits. HHF, we will see you next December 22nd at your barn.

Dude, it's Joe Rockhead and Fred Flintstone.

Hey blueblood, your one year flash is over and you got notta to show for it. Looking at the loss of so many players, I don't look for Tonka to do much next year. Look out for EP next year as that team will be the team everyone expected to get EP's first state title. We know that can't happen, but they can get their 2nd.

Thanks for reminding me of your name.

We will see about the 1 year deal. Tonka returns 9 of the top 12 forwards, 2 defensemen and a goalie who went unbeaten and was on a final 51 roster last year,

The bantams coming up will help and the JV will supply most of the D replacements. Tonka will have the scoring punch and the goaltending, but the D is the question.

I predict a 19-6 season and a spot in the section 6AA finals against.....

I expect Apple Valley, Eagan, and Burnsville to battle it out for the conference title the next few years with Lakeville South and Jefferson trying to be spoilers. Should be a very competitive conference that will have a chance to send 3 teams to state.

FYI Prior Lake won't be as bad as what you think.. Not saying they will win the conference but they won't be a push over next year!!

Note: EP loses 2 forwards from this years team, but gets one Junior forward that was lost to a season ending injury after game #1. Net loss.....one forward.

Average goal differential in games that Glockner played was 7.5 - he has not been tested against real competition. Tonka's two returning defensemen played very little (if at all) in critical game situations. Forwards may need to score a lot of goals next season. This will prove to be a tougher task than this season without the big dogs to get the puck out of the zone.

Although I believe Prior Lake is much improved, I doubt they will do much better than Rosemount

this is about what i was thinking, however, i would put AV in first if not second. i think they will return to state looking at there roster. A lot of young talent on the team including Fasching

A couple people have Jefferson as the favorite...can I ask why? Nothing against them, but they are losing a very strong senior class.
