NJMARSHALL20 is NOT Ben Marshall's Dad or immediate family
ATTENTION: I was notified via PM that there may have been some confusion as to if I was somehow Ben Marshall's Dad (njmarshall20?!). I just wanted to let everyone know that I am NOT Scott Marshall as the NJ in njmarshall20 should've easily clarified. That is all...continue your discussions regarding buzzer beaters. Thanks!
Some intersting points to consider....east hockey wrote:I thought they said the red light came on first. Let's see what the DVD recording said...puckster99 wrote:After watching the replay on TV, the light comes on before the horn sounded and also if you watch the clock on TV, it only shows the numbers to the left of the tenth dot. after timing it from 2 seconds to 1 second and using that same time frame after the 1 second went to zero, there had to have still been 2 or 3 tenths of a second left. You can even hear the announcers say the light came on. And the light is connected to the clock!!

-the rule has always been the same - forever,
-the referee was in position to make the call,
-the goal judge lit the lamp,
-the referee signaled "goal",
-so what caused the issue??? "video-replay"
I'm sure without the implementation of video-replay, Mahtomedi would of moved on.....it was tooooo close to know otherwise.

Might add that not ALL games were televised so video was only available for games leading to the state championship game.ref101 wrote:Some intersting points to consider....east hockey wrote:I thought they said the red light came on first. I managed to watch all four Friday games in person and these top four A teams could have played with the top four AA teams any day. May not consitently win, but the games would have been state tournament worthy.
Pretty sure all 4 of these A teams have a regular season schedule filled with games against AA teams already.
What is done is done. Must have been tough for Mahtomedi to play Warroad the next morning. They certainly played better than their 1-2 state tournament record suggests.
