Good Story I found that I thought I would share. I don't think the northern players get enough credit for what they accomplish.

Willie Corrin and Matt Youso entered the 2009-10 hockey season as International Falls’ top two players.
They also go out that way.
Corrin and Youso, two senior captain defensemen, were named to the Associated Press All-State honorable mention team Wednesday.
“I know me and Willie both deserve it,” Youso said. “We both work hard and hopefully we both have good futures ahead of us.”
It’s the third straight year Corrin has been named to the honorable mention team, while it’s Youso’s second honor. He also made the team after his sophomore season.
“They were definitely the anchor to our defense and they had the experience back there that we needed,” Broncos head coach John Prettyman said.
Corrin finished first on the Broncos in goals (21) and assists (32), and was fourth in scoring in all of Section 7A. Corrin and Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl’s Wes Judnick were the only two defensemen in the top 10 in scoring in Section 7A.
“I think I took on more of a leadership role,” Corrin said about his third season on varsity. “I didn’t change anything too much. I got more points, but I didn’t get more goals. Got more assists. I passed the puck a little more.”
Corrin was drafted last year by Fargo of the USHL, and he plans to play for the Force and head coach Steve Johnson next season. Johnson also coached FHS grad Ben Gordon when Gordon played for the Lincoln Stars. Corrin said he’s also talking to Bemidji State, the University of Minnesota Duluth, Northern Michigan, Providence and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where his uncle and FHS grad Dean Blais coaches.
Corrin was just as excited to hear Youso was honored on the honorable mention team.
That’s great,” he said. “Youso, you know, he’s a hard worker. Sees the ice well.”
Youso’s future plans aren’t as set in stone as Corrin’s plans, but he will play hockey.
“I plan on playing, but where I go I don’t know yet,” Youso said, noting one option is the Fresno Monsters, a new team in the North American Hockey League.
Youso, a 4-year varsity player, tallied 13 goals and 15 assists this season, good for 19th in scoring in Section 7A. He was fifth among defensemen in scoring.
“Both of them were a big part of our success,” Prettyman said.
The duo was also only two of five members from Section 7A to get named to the All-State team. Hermantown’s Adam Krause made the second team, while Ryan Johnson from Hibbing-Chisholm and Garrett Hendrickson from Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl made the honorable mention squad.
“Getting honorable mention shows the hard work paid off,” Youso said. “So it’s good.”
