2000 Blades Look to Monopoly to bail them out.

Post by hockeydad11 »

Extra Extra Read all about it!

The reality is that that after a poor finish at the Meltdown the 2000 Blades are looking to the Monopoly to bail them out of the tail spin that they are in.

If the Blades lay another egg at the Brick this summer they at risk of losing their spot in the tournament. They have been calling every Monopoly and Machine player they can find the number to. Panic!

One Blades coach was heard saying "whatever are we going to do."

It is a sad day in the Blades Camp.

It is kind of a funny post.

I have a freind who did get a call to see if they wanted to go with the Blades to the Brick. That why this is such a funny post, because it was just like that. He said no.

I think the Blades show go to the dance with who they started with and let the chips fall.

The Steffen is not much of a coach, but he is a good fitness guy.

dude, you're bashing 9-10year olds, get a LIFE. What do you do if your own kid spills his Cheerios in the morning, create a blog and bash him. Think about it and support the lads heading up to Canada to play in a great tournament they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

I think you guys are just acting crazy, both sides. You come on here and rip a kid who's 9 or 10? You're just a bunch of adult bullies and, believe it or not, your attitude will rub off on your own kid. Every time I read these types of threads I want to change my screen name to "yourallnuts".
From what I know, which isn't a lot, both of the Blades and the Machine have their good and bad characteristics. Why would anybody come on here and rip a team that looses? I think it just goes to show that the talent level outside of Minnesota is huge and MN is falling behind, and there goes your chance for your son to be the superstar.

Does anyone know which Monopoly players have been invited to the Blades/Brick team?

In keeping with the tradition of the forum, I'll correct your grammer. It should be "you'reallnutz"

They're not ripping the kids, they're taking shots at the parents - not too many 9 year olds on the forum. Though most of the parents of the younger kids don't deserve it, it has been brought on by comments made by others. Personally I think it's a bit of a stretch to point out a loss in the finals to some of the best young kids in the country - more effective if you actually beat them yourselves.

Canada Hockey Rules, dude i thought you were just some objective observer . Obvious you are a blades parents and your first post was a lie, i guess the "i used to play juniors in Canada" has been used by blades parents on here to lie about themselves and their real intentions. It looks like the blades parents can dish it out but cannot take it.

If I read CHR's post correctly, the "dude" made a point about bashing 9 year old kids. The "dude" never brought up Machine or Blades parents, you just assume anyone that brings up anything negative about the Made must be a Blade parent. Trust me, the Blades didn't corner the market on the dislike for the Machine dictatorship over at the Made, there's plenty to go around.

It is clear the there is one and two when it comes to Top AAA clubs. Blades / Machine or Machine / Blade however you want to look at it, but is the a clear Number #3 AAA club?

The nice thing for teams that aren't traveling great distances to play tournaments is that the answer is: not really. There are several programs that have some older kids that can play, some that are kind of hit and miss at different ages, some that currently only have a couple teams, and a bunch that seem to be spreading the younger kids out to provide opportunities for some very entertaining hockey. Some that seem to be having some success this year, in alphabetical order, in an attempt not to offend (though I'm sure I've slighted a bunch in this quick attempt):

Easton
Edge
Icemen
Legacy
Magicians
Monopoly
Rbk Nationals
Velocity

There are also a number of non-metro teams that frequent the metro tournaments, such as the Stars, Wings, Mavericks, etc., a couple from Iowa (NPI, Jr. Blackhawks, etc.), a couple Colorado teams (Thunderbirds, Arvada, etc.), a couple Canadian teams (Jr. Steelers, Lightning, etc.), a couple from California (Jr. Kings, Wildcats, etc.) and not to slight our neighbors to the East (Capitals, Selects, etc.).

I think it's perfectly fine if parents and talented kids gravitate toward a couple programs and travel to far away lands to play really great hockey. I also think its great that they stick around to play a little here in town, as well. Minnesota could certainly filter out hundreds of kids into Best Buy, General Mills, and 3M, and fly around to play Belle Tire, Little Ceasars and Honeybaked, leaving the rest of the kids with fewer resources to improve; but I think summer hockey in Minnesota is more fun the way it is.

I agree It has drastically changed when I look at the way summer hockey was when my 94 was 7 or 8 yrs old. Then compare the options my 02 has, it is a hands down better situation .[in my opinion] The kids are still enjoying high level compition, and more kids are being able to take part. This is going to benifit everyone. If a kid wants to play a parent can find a good fit for him or her. It was not like that ten years ago.

I would have to agree with goalie85 on the fact that there are so many more viable options for players nowdays. Even if things are watered down from program to program - more players have the opportunity to develop and enjoy the game. I had a player that was a 93 and a younger player that is a 2000... my younger player has a better situation for options and has found a group of players he enjoys being around when they hit the ice.

Maybe the Torspo team can help bail them out. I hear the loons have some good players that Scotty and Terry can call.

You 2000 Machine parents need to get a life, now you are cheering against fellow Minnesota kids to "Crash and Burn" at the Brick. Showing a lot of class over there at the Made.

You can dish it but you can't take it. Loser!

The Made makes so much bank it is crazy! They don't make on rink side they make it the program side. They are going on four years. They are opening a dryland training center.
