Blades:Do they need out of state players to help them lose?
They did again. They left their own players home to take out of state players and lost!
The 99 Blades died in Toronto They went 1 and 3 and did not advance. 1 and 3, thats 3 losses. Not good!!!
Some of the newer clubs are better than alot of Blades teams and they would not have to use imports.
Go Minnesota born players!!!!

Help them "loose"? Or help them "lose"?eastondude wrote:They did again. They left their own players home to take out of state players and lost!

I've read a couple of your posts....and you sound like a certain high ranking "member" of MM.....Bernie, is that you? The reason I ask that is Bernie's email to to the 96 parents also included the misspelled use of the word "loose".....which leaves me pretty suspicious.

If the parents wrote a check without knowing what they were paying for...then they have no one to blame but themselves.
If you are one of those Blades parents, were you told that you would be going to the Brick? If not, did you ask? And if you didn't ask, why not?
The Blades have historically assembled a roster specifically for the Brick....and that roster doesn't always jive with their "regular" roster...this is nothing new.

I talked to the Monopoly coach this weekend. He said that he is bringing 3 or 4 skaters and a goalie with him to the Brick. He said he thought it would be a great opportunity for those kids. He seems to believe the only players that aren't going from the Blades were aware of this. They were practice players and knew any tournaments would be a bonus. It seems to me that there is a bunch of people that just want to create controversy. Not sure why, but it seems to be all MM people. You just won 2 championships this weekend. try to enjoy your great program and don't worry what everyone else is doing.muckandgrind wrote:polyman22 wrote:I have been told that some of the Monopoly players are going to the Brick with the Blades. That's what I figured....not a big deal. I have yet to see a Blades parent on these boards complaining about their kid being "left behind".EnjoyTheShow wrote:I talked to the Monopoly coach this weekend. Seems like maybe you are the one trying to start a controversy with that statement. I'm just saying........EnjoyTheShow wrote:I talked to the Monopoly coach this weekend. Take a closer look at the title of the thread, or look at keit... I mean hockey dad 11's 3 threads he started. Funny how every thread is either a pro MM or negative Blades/Monopoly etc. I'm fine with people backing their program, but it's too bad they try to create an issue when those involved with the programs have no issue.HockeyDad41 wrote:Seems like maybe you are the one trying to start a controversy with that statement. fair question. I don't think they could. The Blades have the charter from what I understand. You could certainly argue that the brick team should be the top players from all of MN but I don't see them changing that as it does help the Blades organization. That Monopoly coach was laughing that they were called Monopoly North America, as he said that is the team he coached at the subway last year. This was all MN boys except for one kid he coached last year from Winnipeg. I would agree the name thing for the blades is more of a business decision. I'm sure the Monopoly guys would love to have their name involved, but they seem to look past that. unless there is something I don't know regarding plans for the name.polyman22 wrote:Why call it the "Minnesota" Blades then? Why not do something like the Monopoly does when they uses "North America"

Yeah this is a bait thread for sure, but don't lump everyone who supports MM in the same category as HD11 and eastondude. Refuse to take the bait and maybe they will get bored and go away.EnjoyTheShow wrote:Take a closer look at the title of the thread, or look at keit... I mean hockey dad 11's 3 threads he started. Do you have any evidence to back up that allegation? If you don't want to go public with it, then PM me. I assure you that any info you give me in confidence will remain that way. If you can't provide any such evidence, then say so and quit trying to present this garbage as fact.stickwacks wrote:muckand grind wrote:

That is because if you have an issue, they get rid of your kid...
Enjoy The Show is the coach of the monopoly team!!
This is such a joke - this ETS person is the idiot that came to a tournament last year in a suit - pathetic - envy and jealousy are powerful motivators and the people typing lately are just sick of the bilge that has been spewing from Bernie haters
People are just so naive about the blades org - they say all the right things untill its time to win a tournament and then it's off to other states or raiding other teams to try to win? Why not just pick your team and develop them like you always preach?
People appreciate the options that are available these days and the blades want things to go back to the way they used to be........guess what it's never going to happen - the jeanie is out of the bottle but development and WINNING is still the goal - seems like orange are winning more and developing the players on the team - its all good!!

Bernie McBain's motivation is to make money, pure and simple. He bullies players and parents, alike., all for the almighty dollar. If someone wants to pay their money and send their kids into that environment, that's fine, it's a free country and you go right ahead....but I will also tell you that recent history suggests that you and your child will get tired of his antics and decide that it's not worth it anymore. Don't believe me? Talk to the parents and players at the 95 and 96 birth years.....those were probably the best teams to ever come out of MM, and even they had enough of his BS.
The Blades don't make any money, nor do they operate under false pretenses. They never hid the fact that they will sometimes add a few players when they go to the Brick.....You talk to parents and players who've worn that Blades jersey and 99 out of a 100 times, you'll hear only good things. I'll put their track record of developing hockey players against Bernie's anyday of the week.
If people want to proclaim the "demise" of the Blades organization after a few teams' poor showings at some recent tournaments, you just go right ahead. My bet is that you will have egg on your face at some point.

Muck and Grind
I have spoken with a family from our area and their son skates with Mcbain and they are very happy. I have read some of your post and you seem to spend most of your time cutting up Mn Made.
My thought is that you could spend more time building up your own program. Just a thought. Good luck.

Look at the title of this thread and others bashing the Blades!!! It's MM backers who are doing the majority of the bashing around here, I'm only responding to them....scrapiron wrote:Muck and Grind

How old is the son of the family you have spoken to?

Maybe maybe not.Toomuchtoosoon wrote:Maybe muckandgrind is in a good position to comment since he has experience with MM and the blades? He probably saw the 96 implosion first hand.
He knows what he is talking about.
I don't doubt that he might have known about those two teams he keeps referring to, but that's history now.
I say let's move on and take a look at how everyone did at the end of the year. I will bet that both the Blades and the Machine will have some great memories and probably a few head scratchers as well. In the end the kids will have had a fun season, made some new friends and be ready for fall hockey or whatever they choose to do.
It would be nice for a change to hear how the kids did in these tournaments, rather than how disfunctional the owners, parents, and programs are.

I'm not going to smear or begrudge any parent who wants to send their kid to MM or the Blades. Like I've said before, it's a free country and you are free to decide for yourselves what is best for your child. I'm only letting you all know what I know....I'll freely admit, I'm not as close to either organization as I've been in the past....so I can't tell you a thing about who the best 2000 or 2003 team is.....Just know that Minnesota Made is an entity who's purpose is to turn a profit. Nothing wrong with that, but it's something you need to consider when comparing the two organizations.
But also like I've said before, it will be extremely interesting to see if the Machine will be able to hold on to the kids they have now long enough to enter a team in the NAHL Future Prospects tournament when they hit at Bantam Major age......The oldest group he has now is that 97 birth year, meaning he needs to keep these kids around another two years.

Re: Blades:Do they need out of state players to help them lo
Were you at the tourney? Funny, the reason the Blades go to these tourneys is to play COMPETITION... All of the teams were competitive up there and and the 99s played good games...how come you don't mention the 98's who went one and three in pool play and then ended up losing in the championship? Ignorance..... What ar the soo called Newer clubs are you chirpin about?eastondude wrote:They did again. They left their own players home to take out of state players and lost!

Here is the link to the Toronto Prospects, take a look at where all the players from the various teams are from, there are kids from Florida playing for Boston teams, kids from Dallas playing with Chicago teams.
Why is it ok for all these guys but not for MN teams?
Its the way things are done now days!
