Similar situation with many western suburban associations (not so much Edina) where often some of the better players leave to play for private high schools and some, perhaps, for the education. However, several western suburban schools academics compare very favorably indeed with the Blake's, Breck's, and Benilde's. Maybe it's just the prestige. Wayzata's girls youth program has been improving.

Wayzata
Its just as accurate to say that a number of Wayzata's best players from youth hockey were already in private school before they became hockey players of any note--this includes the Chute, Johnson and Komarek sisters . They all went on to play college hockey and started at Blake at an early age (kindergarten in the case of Chute's and Komarek's and I believe the Johnson's as well).

While Wayzata may be a fine public school I do not think it accurate to say it compares "very favorably" to Blake or Breck for that matter.
