Yeah, if you count NTDP. . . what's the true number without our national program involved?[/quote]
Per the nahl website, there are 104 kids from last year's teams that are committed to DI schools. The NTDP no longer plays in the NAHL, so exactly 0 of those kids are products of that program. There were 19 teams in the league, so there were roughly 5.5 kids per team that committed (there won't be too many more for this coming season, so 7 is just a tad high). But don't fool yourself into thinking that the nahl doesn't have a place.
I will be curious to see what happens to that number now that the league is expanding so rampantly.

Never meant to suggest the NAHL doesn't have a place. Just was contesting the statistics. I'm also going to contest your's. . . of the 104, 23 were "alumni" some from as far back as 07-08 (taken from HockeyDB.com), meaning truly there were about 81 from this year's teams. With the 19 teams this translates to 4.3 kids per team to D1. Most NAHL teams roster 25. You can do the math.
Certainly the hockey in this league is good. But, if you have expectations of playing D1 and don't make the USHL in your first two years of juniors, it appears the odds go down significantly.

I don't know the numbers (and it's not worth the time to dig into it), but from what I've seen and heard, there are more kids that go to directly to DI from the nahl then there are kids that go to the ushl from the nahl. Sure, it happens, but I guarantee that there aren't anywhere near 80 kids going Tier I from Tier II.
If you want to get caught up in semantics, knock yourself out... the only point I'm trying to make is that if you're a young man that has aspirations of playing DI hockey, the nahl isn't a bad option.

Word on the street is that the world belongs to Wayzata. Perhaps we can change the name from the University of Minnesota to the University of Wayzata. Stats don't lie do they. The Lucia-Cameranesi-Opperman line will lead the Gophers back to the Frozen Four. Way to go Coach.
