3 Rochester Century players to leave early

Post by SEMNHOCKEYFAN »

Defenseman Connor Faupel and forward Drew Anderson are leaving this weekend to head to Kansas City and play for the Russell Stover AAA midget team this winter. They'll live with the same host family and complete their senior year of high school in Overland Park, a southern suburb of K.C

Brock Kautz, the goalie who is about to be a junior in high school. He is headed to Owatonna of the NAHL, a Junior A, Tier II league.

Looks like russell stover hit southern MN pretty hard. Parker from faribault and Docken from Northfield are rumored to be leaving as well. No doubt this hurts Century.

What I'm curious about is why did they choose Midget Tier 1 when they could've just played juniors?

Possible reasons:

- no players from southern mn play elite league
- section 1AA and 1A hockey is overall weak compared to cities and northern mn
- wrestlers and hoopsters get all the glory and girls

Maybe, you have to try out and make a junior team.

And,

playing against players closer to their age?
living situation?
cost?
school?
agree on elite league
