Good, Bad, & Ugly

Post by blueblood »

How about all of the above-

Good - Missota Conference schedule should ensure a winning season

Bad - Brutal non-conference schedule will not be kind to the Stars with Roseau, Elk River, Burnsville, Edina, Minnetonka, Hill-Murray, EP and BSM on the docket

Ugly - one and done in section play

Are any returners beside Mike Reilly (Shattuck) leaving?

Yes, they lost a goalie that was a freshman last year. He went to HM, his dad got a job there. That is what I heard.

Too early too tell how they will do. Stars always seem to play well. There are points that need to be looked at:
1) who will do all the scoring
2) will the goaltending be good. Pierce is starting this year.
3) will people take them too lightly

I will wait to see how the team is when the team is in place.

Would this goalie be Travis Neubeck? I heard the family was returning to the WBL area do to his dad getting a Principal job in Mahtomedi.

Travis Neubeck

Sounds like he is Mike Neubeck's kid. Mike was a great athlete at St. Bernard's in the 80s. He was a teacher at Hill-Murray in the 90s. He has been a teacher, AD, coach and administrator at Columbia Heights & Shakopee. He is the new Middle School Principal at Mahtomedi. He has been a Northern League and American Association umpire doing Saints games for many years. He's a good guy. It would not be surprising if his kid is also a good athlete and hockey goalie for him to enroll at HM.
