The term "great" is used rather loosely here, but they are definitely improved and I think that the new goalie will do just fine. They will be a top challenger in their section. They'll also continue to rack up the inflated stats with some of the lower competition they'll face.

Saw them once last year, they do have some talent. With SSP and Mahto losing most of their top guys SLP could be #2 in the section, but I don't think they are anywhere near STA, especially by playoff time given the schedules to 2 teams play throughout the year

ELITE- "Best of anything", "displays class" - yes you can use this word loosely, but when protraying players as "Elite" basically they need to project the meaning of the word not just partially, so if SLP has 3 players in the ELITE league are they actually ELITE? You can start another thread on this topic as it can be used in so many ways. My opinion in this and has no negativity within these players is No they are not Elite

Quite frankly, this is a debateable issue pertaining to the ELITE league, tryouts, coaching positions etc. Obviously, there are going to be politics played in every event that a player participates in. So the "BEST" are not always playing in the ELITE league.

First of all, a team of "great" talent could mean a group of zero Elite Players but excellent depth of all very good players. It could also mean a few studs mixed in with average to good players.

In SLP's case, all three "Elite" players were placed and did not go through the tryout process. After witnessing the Elite tryouts myself, I would offer two opinions:

1) The Elite selections are NOT the very best players, nor is that expected. Many in the Elite league are underclassmen that are not yet as good as seniors that are not in the Elite league.

2) Two of the three Elite SLP players would have been burried and passed over in the tryouts. One player (I think "mrbodangles" himself) I'd consider on the bubble.

Caught my eye at the game that there were three from SLP....... Impressed me that day.

I apologize for not remembering the players name, but he was from Champlin should of made the "Elite" team ahead of these 3 players
