This organization may need multiple tryouts. Rumor has it there's a ton of openings at all levels with a majority of the kids leaving for greener pastures. But don't worry if they don't fill the teams or feel they can compete they'll subsititute with some Canadians or whoever they can pull together for the bigger tourney's.

I know my sons team has everybody but 1 coming back for the tryout. We had an awesome experience as well as everyone else I've spoke with in the program.

I think you might be confusing the monopoly with their north America team as far as bring players in. I think it's great they have an additional program to have players from north America play together.

All that said. I read your post history and you seem to always be negative towards the monopoly and everything outside of the program you are in. In general you seem to try to start problems with your posts. Just curious why?

I'm not causing problems just stating what I know from some parents I know in that program and some parents on our team that know the guys that run that program. We have kids on our team that left that program and saw the writing on the wall early on. I know for a fact that most all of their '9 & '00 players aren't coming back and many of their '01 players aren't. They weren't happy with how things were run, the changing of tourneys, bringing in players, etc. Basically being sold a bill of goods and not getting what you paid for.

As for the North America team. If you sign up for their regular program be prepared to have your team or your kid replaced in tourneys. This is what happended to the '00 team in the Easton. The mighty Scott was afraid to play the Machine with his normal team so he pulled them out and only kept a handful and replaced the rest with out of towners. The Machine ended up not being inthe tourney anyways. They threw their paying customers in some cheap tourney out in Blaine a week later.

I'm just saying be aware. Consider this a public service announcement.

For all programs as a matter of fact, do your homework. There's a lot of data you can get and talk to parents in the programs. Lots of options out there.

seems like you have some deep hatred for the program. What about the kid that was brought down by your team(the machine) all expenses paid for the caribou cup. Did he take another kids spot? I know there are 18 skaters on the roster already.

I can speak only as a parent who has been with this program for a couple years and have been very happy with my sons development and opportunity to play with a good team.

Agreed ... 110%.

I will, PERSONALLY, never have anything to do with this program. But, that is me ... make the decision for yourself, your kid, your finances, and your tolerance for dealing with certain brands of people.

Also ... I heard Brokaw is taking his 2000's, or extreme lack there of to the Blades???

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

just curious as to why you wouldn't personally have anything to do with the monopoly programs. What team are you with? Do you personally know "mighty Scott" or "Brokaw?"

it's a shame that they simply post their tryouts on here and the usual suspects feel the need/insecurity to come and make fictitious claims.

I do know mr Brokaw will be coaching the 00' blades and there are a couple players going there with him. He will still oversee monopoly and will be on the ice with my sons and the other monopoly teams all summer.

The monopoly program gives kids great flexibility in their summer schedule. I'm sure, as they have grown there have been things they wish they could have done differently but I know they have the tools and passion to motivate and engage these kids. Funny how no monopoly parent is on here complaining.

I do know him. By no means was I implying anything personal about the man. BUT, I can see how it may have come across that way. My semi-apologies.

And yes, my son skated on the Monopoly tournament '00 team for almost two seasons. I DO know the program, I DID see the practices, I DO know what I am talking about.

On a personal note, I do NOT have any issues with anyone in the program.

However, professionally I do. How the kids are treated as "just another player" that can be replaced by some fly-in from Chicago or the Ukraine or Australia etc ... etc ...

and I ask again ... WHERE IS THE WOLF PACK WHEN WE NEED IT!?!?

Here's my questions: 1) How many Monopoly teams are there at each level? 2) Is there an open door policy between the teams? Can the players switch from team to team depending on the tournament? 3) Are there actual rosters that the teams stick with? Because every time I have seen their teams play, it seems they have different kids on the teams. It kind of seems like, depending on the tournament, their rosters change from tournament to tournament. Am I the only one that's noticed this?

No you aren't the only one to notice. I wonder if they will have a tough time with that reputation.

that's funny! Your right the monopoly 01' team, that won the meltdown and Easton cup open and took 2nd in the international cup are losing half of their team. The reason being 8 of them were 02's and they are helping with the blades 02' team and those players are going with.

As far as you saying you had a kid on the 01' team, let's be serious. All of the 01's from that team are attending the try out for next years team with the exception of 1. I know you aren't that 1 because he is a classy guy who is friends with those "too" and wouldn't make some rediculous post.

Nice first post by the way. I would encourage any on who really wants to see what these guys are about, go to there training facility and watch them work with the kids. Sit down and talk to them. I'm confident you'll see that they aren't clowns. It seems that they must be doing something right to have people who have never been part of the program spending their time trying to fabricate stories to negativly impact them. Sounds like you need to get out of the house and find a new hobby
