who are the 3 that are not going back?dungey wrote:I see that 3 of the players that could still play opted to not come back to the Thoroughbreds. Does anyone know how common this is? I know there are a number of circumstances that come in to play at that level such as cost, injuries and such....

So glad to see all the press Crysta is getting. She wouldn't get it if she wasn't a great player. For a girl who lost her sophomore year to a torn ACL then to come back to summer hockey only to break her wrist, what determination and love for the sport! Of course that is why she left high school hockey, PENALTIES! Once a ref has your number it is hard to play the game. Everyone knows high school girls hockey is about the same as ringettes. Not for talented players who can play a more physical and skilled game. Now all she hears from college coaches is she needs to be more aggressive. So glad she made the move so she can play the type of hockey she is capable of and may actually learn something! She loves it and her team mates, coaches and level of play are great! Of course she was frustrated but the drama was there the year she tore her ACL and she wasn't even on the ice so if you don't know the story behind all the drama don't comment on it. I bet the real story is you people who comment about the players probably never played the game or you would understand!!!!

dear hockfan1980,
there should be no reason for you to be cutting crysta down. your doughter should look up to her!! crysta is actualy going to play college hockey. the only reason crysta gets penalties is simply because of the other girls. they would hit her or slash her behind the play. so your doughter got what she asked for. if she cant handle being bumped around than she should quit.

I believe Fres1414 is a 9th grader not a parent, inmature!hockfan1980 wrote:Wow!!! Now i've heard everything. You must be a very misled person and I feel sorry for you. I won't play your game and my daughter is playing D1 hockey this year. We'll have to see where your angel Crystal plays?
I can't believe your post. Wow!!
NO PLAYER boy's or girls deserves to be checked from behind.
But still, NO one deserves to be hit from behind period.

I will throw this out for thought: Fresnomonster could be a reference to the Fresno Monsters, a Californa Junior A team on which Chad Lowell (Crysta's older brother) played a year ago and wore jersey number 14.
I had no idea I would stir up this hornet's nest with my initial comment - for that, I apologize. However, regarding my comment that losing this drama goes in the plus column for WBL … I rest my case!

I'm not sure that jumpstart is wrong with their post. We all know that players contribute differently at different levels. The level of play, which includes the physical part, really matters. A physical high school girl may not flourish until they take the next step, whether it's the Thoroughbreds or a college team.
So when jumpstart said that WBL may be better going forward, it could be a true statement that WBL and the Thoroughbreds will both be better.
