Locker Room
How's the new locker room policy working out for everyone?

So far so good.
What was the philosophy behind putting it in place?
To make sure there was no bullying in the lockers? Or having a second set of adult eyes watching the squirt B2 team throw tape balls at each other? Someone to referee the locker-boxing brackets? Who put the dead fish under the liner in the trash can (in locker room six at PIC)?
And, just out of curiosity, what are the consequences for non-compliance?

The rule simply provides that teams “…have at least one responsible adult present directly monitoring the locker room during all team events….” USA Hockey 2010-11 Annual Guide, p. 35. "All recording devices should be banned from the locker room, including cell phones and cameras."
Some of the reasoning (I agree with alot of, but I'm not pasing judgement here):
*in todays facebook/internet era kids take pics, and some could be inappropriate (even if innocent enough to the kids) and once it hits the internet, it's there forever.
*the 1/100 psycho sex wierdo dad or coach or whatever taking pictures with cell
*inappropriate language/behavior by coach
*bullying/hazing
*theft be it from teammate/coach or a basic thief wandering through facility

The policy is in place to cover USA Hockeys butts when a kid gets hurt, or a picture goes on the internet or anything that would happen in an unsupervised room of kids that happens.
The policy takes the issue back to the Team Coach and Association and says, "hey, we implemented a policy, you failed to comply with it, now this happened, it's your fault, not ours".

Very difficult to implement, almost unenforceable, and no published consequences for non-compliance. Yes, a crude CYA attempt by MN Hockey, but I suppose something is better than nothing. After some initial complaining, we have about 2/3 of our team parents rotating a before/after schedule. Yes, this is likely overkill, but we're complying with the letter and the spirit of the "policy" and using the "prudent parent" approach. After some initial grousing, the kids have kept their cell phones out of the way. Better that parents are minorly inconvenienced than some kid get his/her damaging picture plastered on the Internet for all eternity.
Another example/reason to have a parent in locker room (this didn't occur in locker room I guess, but I'm sure the psycho was in locker rooms aplenty and who knows what he was looking at & thinking):
