Section 2AA
Should be an exciting section as always. Before the season even starts, predictions, thoughts, ideas, opinions?

Let's be honest here... Edina should be the favorite after that the line up will be Jefferson or Burnsville, then AHA. Too early to tell. Politics is too involved in this section. I would guess, at least my opinion, Edina, AHA, Jefferson then Burnsville.
Right now, don't care we have not even gotten through captains practices yet....

Gotta agree that the defending state champions are the early favorites. The Hornets have plenty of returning talent, while both Jefferson and Holy Angels did graduate quite a bit. They may start slowly, but with the history of success at both schools, they'll be on the rise come playoff time. Burnsville could be interesting, but do the Blaze have the depth to keep up with Edina?Zamman wrote:Let's be honest here... 2AA Politics?
Zamman:
What democratic party conspiracy are you reffering too in section 2AA? It's pretty obvious at THIS point:
Edina is the clear choice. Jefferson and Burnsville will have a one game shot to beat the defending champs.
AHA is a distant third and likely the #4 seed. Could they move up into a #2 or #3 slot? Yes, if they sweep the Missota Conference and beat Burnsville (2AA) and BSM plus a couple more quality wins against either:
EP, Hill, Tonka, Edina, Roseau or ER.
In the long run, the AHA schedule will be their downfall. They play too many good teams early in their season and only two top teams after January 20th: Shattuck & Benilde. Unless the pull and upset, the Shattuck game shouldn't affect the 2AA seedings, because not all coaches see Shattuck as compared to Burnsville or Jefferson.
If your not playing top teams in February, the level of team play tends to drop off. That will not bode well for the Starz in the 2AA playoffs.
