i have been seeing alot of people on here predicting STA to do well. I agree that they are a pretty good team again but they do have some major question marks. for example who is their goalie? they had 2 seniors start for them last year. goaltending can make a huge difference. also they did just lose their best two players and leading scorers. how deep will they be this year?
i agree that they are a good team but i am not sure they are elite. i am seeing many people predicting them to win the schwan cup over edina and hill. i just dont see it...
Why is everyone so high on STA?

I wouldn't rank them a top 5 team in the State, but certainly the top team in Class A.
They have 5 elite league alum, a couple of which were towards the top of the scoring list. The have good coaching. Ben Marshall is gone so they are highly unlikely to get upset for a third straight year in their section. And with the other Class A powerhouse (Breck) significantly weaker due to massive graduation, this should be their year to win it all again in Class A.

Wouldn't be so quick to make that assumption hockeyrocks. Spring Lake Park and Chisago Lakes are both going to be very strong teams this year, as well as Totino Grace. All four teams have big question marks at goaltending however. Totino and Chisago return very average goaltending, and Spring Lake Park and St Thomas lose both of their long term starters. St Thomas is going to be very loaded with talent just like they have been the last few years, but teams like Spring Lake Park and Chisago Lakes return almost their whole rosters. Spring Lake Park has been put into the mix the last few years, and have been a disappointment. However, if they are going to make a run at state, this year is going to be the year. Should make for some fun at Aldrich come March
