7-1 with the shots 29-20? Knowing east usually outshoots 80% of the teams they play, Id say you have the score right but the shots will be 34-16

It depends. If they call off school in ISD 709 tomorrow, I'm guessing the game would have to be cancelled? Someone closer to the school district which gave us the Red Plan  might know more.

So far as the forecast, it's just a Winter Weather Advisory from Duluth down to Cambridge. I-35 should be in good shape so I don't foresee a problem with travel. It's just that Duluth schools seem a little quick to pull the plug on any day where we have more than an inch of snow. :)

Yeah, that's the rule--no school, no game. (Does this mean I'm close to the school district that gave us the Red Plan?) :?

Anyways, it'd be a travesty if they canceled school on the day of the East hockey opener. Forgive me if I'm having some trouble sympathizing with people suffering in the cold, though; I've spent much of the past week on Mexican beaches. :P

As for the game, East by lots. Last year they won 5-0 and 6-1 in these teams' two meetings, with 56 shots in the first and 61 in the 2nd.

That's a good point, I was just trying to keep it intertesting! (Note that I have C/I up 1-0 after the 1st)

^^^^

But then again after seeing the stats from last season, We both might be giving C/I a little to much credit ..almost 120 shots in 2 games??

School district has cancelled all after school activities - including games due to the icy roads and winter storm warning.

Please post the make-up date if you hear it.

Assuming it's not this week, East's first game will now be on the road against Wayzata. That'll be a rather different challenge...

Guess I'm glad I didn't make the trek to the Heritage from our cozy confines in Proctor Town tonight. :)

Yeah, sounds like it was a night to stay in back in Duluth.

11 days until I head back to the frozen tundra...

I believe last year was the closest the game has ever been between the 2 teams at 5-0. I think it was 3-0 till late in the 3rd and then 2 goals, the last one being an empty netter (I think, or it was a goal with under 10 seconds). Shots were still lopsided.

I see this game being at least a 10 goal difference. Cambridge had 5 or 6 very talented sophomores that left the team and are playing varsity elsewhere (Hill Murray, Blaine, Totino Grace, Benilde). Will be at least 5 years until they rebound from that. This is also the worst goaltending theyve had since I can remember Cambridge having. Cambridge also lost to Duluth Central 10 to 0.
