Minneapolis, North Branch, Moose Lake, and the Blizzard. Mora will finish 5 and there will be a wash from 6-8.
This shows you know little of the team Mora is bringing back this year.

Moose Lake also has a new coach this year...new coach new system(s) I would assume?

Not trying to start a spat here, but I am guessing you are a little NB bias so you would put them ahead of Mora, and high on Minneapolis (righfully so), so they are ahead of Minneapolis, then you have Moose Lake who swept Mora last year and won the conference and are returning a few key players, and Burnett who swept Mora last year and are returning 15 letter winners along with both goalies and all 4 all-conference winners. I personally dont think they will finish above 5.......

So with your logic you expect Moose Lake to spank the Blizzard like they did last year? Without the one player the Blizzard would've had a hard time winning a game last year.

ZACH AUSTIN (MPLS 11)- smart player

JACK KELLY (MPLS 12)
HUNTER MISKA (North Branch 10) Proved himself to be the best 15 year old goalie in the state. Getting D-1 looks, USA Advanced team, Alaska Anchorage scout was at two five am practices watching the Miska boys.
CALVIN MISKA (North Branch 11) Has a motor that won't quit, Advanced 16 program this summer.
MICHAEL SANTA BRIGIDA (North Branch 12) Great hands
TOMMY TOOHEY (North Branch 12) Big kid that can score
JOSH CISAR (Moose Lake 11)
ZACH CISAR (Moose Lake 12) I think they had five Cisars on the team last year.
JOE ENGELHART (Burnett County Blizzard 11) This kid is high scoring and fun to watch. Might be hearing this kids name after high school
PATRICK MARTIN (Mora 12) Playing juniors before the high school season, hard nosed grinder.
MICHAEL HUMPHREY (Mora 12) Playmaker

MPLS- Looks like the clear cut leader

MORA- Bring back most of their talent from last year

NORTH BRANCH- They have a few great players, many untested kids that will be filling holes.

MOOSE LAKE- Good balance of players, they just reload with Cisars

BURNETT BLIZZARD- Good talent, but at times get one dimensional.

PINE CITY- Rebuilding

LEGACY CHRISTIAN- Might take some lumps this year
This is far from your last post......

ur SO stuck on last year. Mora has the same team as last year...they will only improve. everybody else lost some key contributors. who will play with Englehart? how about 2nd line? Even Bo Dangles a NB guy will admit that Mora has a good team this year. It was evident in the scrimmages 2day as Mora beat River Lakes and lost 2-1 to a ranked Sartell team. Mora was down their 2nd best scorer (Martin) and the starting goalie had food poisoning.

we will see...... :D On a side note, I see that NB and Spooner, WI went into overtime????? Didn't they beat Spooner like 12-0 last year? Wow big change there. I also see that Burnett went 2-0 on the day. I think the scores were 5-2 and 5-4. Didn't catch the goal scorers, but if you are all right I am sure Engelhart scored all 10 of them........haha

ur proving my point for me. there is a big change from year to year especially in small associations. graduations hurt and mora is one of very few teams who was almost untouched by it. mora had 2-0 day in scrimmages as well. mora 2, Apollo 0. mora 7, Prairie Centre 1. again Mora was without Martin and this time a first line wing

It looks like NB had a terrible weekend. Don't know much about those WI teams, but to lose 9-0?

Legacy is a very small school right now. They are building a new campus that will open in a little over a year. It will bring in more kids (player) when it opens. It will not help them this year. Coach Larson is building something here. This will be the first year with a JV team.

Great to see all the comments on the Two Rivers Conference. This shows that it was a great idea to create this and will give these teams something to compete for. As a Burnett player parent (Yes I am a little bias because of this) and former Bantam coach I think all will be surprised with the amount of talent this team will have over the next 4+ years. As far as Joe he is a phenomenal player but again this is a different team than last year with talent that was not on the team last year. I do agree that Minneapolis will be a very tough opponent as they had talent on both teams last year and combining will make them a force.

It will be a fun season!

I don't think there would be an argument from anyone by saying this will be a great conference to be a part of for many years to come with a lot of great talent.

To defend North Branch and as a Burnett parent North branch played very good this weekend. The 9-0 game was their JV team against the starters on Baldwin. The coach gave all his players ice time and valuable experience.
They had nothing to lose in this game so he let them play. (I have only talked to their coach a few times but I have a lot of respect for him and North Branch should be proud to have him.)

Mora beats NB 10-3 in the first conference game of the year. Top line looked unstoppable, putting up 4 goals in the first period

Whoa! NB is having a tough time stopping shots. Was this as lopsided as it appears?

probably more so. Miska is a good goalie and this game could have been much worse had he not cleared rebounds so well. defense was lacking and an answer to the top line

That wasn't an accurate shot total at all. I would estimate about 50 and this was the first time Mora has had their whole team eligible and healthy. Made a big difference as they finally put together their top line

1. Blizzard - have Engelhart and some great young talent. They had a group of freshmen last year that will have a full year under their belt. Should be solid for a couple years to come as long as the young kids grow up to potential
2. Minneapolis - If you combine two decent teams, you are bound to get a good team. They have the the alec bros and when fuller comes back he will help. But do they have a goaltender?
3. Moose Lake - Bring back their giant goaltender, and have the Cisar boys to lead the scoring punch. They lost a couple of big names last year including the foreign exchange student and a great coach.
4. North Branch - Lost arguably their top player. I believe he won the conference player of the year. They return a good goalie and some high flying forwards. D will be a question
5. Mora - a solid defensive team last year, but lost their goalie and are turning to a freshman I believe? Not much for an offensive punch
6. Legacy - a private school so it is only a matter of time until they recruit the right kids to start winning the conference
7. Pine City - I believe someone said this already, but they are rebuilding. New coach, lost a lot of players due to lack of committment. Will take their bumps this year.
8. Becker - Growing team, has struggled in the past. With pulling from that many kids, they should have some hockey players coming up soon. I believe they have a good goalie who could sneek them a few games this year.
still like Mora at 5 and the rest of your picks? They had enough scoring punch to beat your Blizzard 2nite

Honestly.... I may move them up to 3... I got to go see the game last night in Mora and neither team impressed me at all. I think the shots on net were like Blizzard 25 and Mora 15. I don't think I would call that offensive punch on either side of the puck. Very poor game from both sides, I hope for both teams it was not a best effort because if so, both teams have some serious work to do.....

Legacy Christian Academy came from behind against Moose Lake to tie up the game, but lost in OT in the Silver Bay tournament.
Last night Legacy tied Minneapolis 3 to 3.
Not too bad for a team that is mostly underclassmen.

I see Moose lake is doing pretty well again this year. Does anyone think they should move up in the "greatone" rankings?

Becker doesn't count yet I guess....

I have seen the Blizzard, Mora, Minneapolis, Pine City and Becker play in person this year so the rest is speculation.
