Did you see that article in the paper about HM tryouts and what it takes to "Be a Pioneer"? My god, so pretentious. They act like it's so much more special to make varsity there because it's a private school. It's not like those tryouts are any harder than EP, Edina, Wayzata, and BSM.
EP two out of three.

i wood think EP and Edina wood have even more kids making it more difficult. but i think the main point was that there aren't junior golds or 19u's for privates. i don't feel bad tho...HockeyMN1 wrote:Did you see that article in the paper about HM tryouts and what it takes to "Be a Pioneer"? First off, your spelling. But let's not get into minor details.
Second, the article would have sounded the same regardless of which 'top level' hockey program they did it on. It's journalism, it intentionally sounds like a bigger deal than it actually is. Let's not make everything into private vs public issues, we've already slaughtered that horse.

Been waiting for someone to talk about Tartan Hockey.thorhockey wrote:With all the new players, parents and others interested in High School Hockey that arrive here on an annual basis it is always a good thing to revive that dead horse and slaughter it again. Especially when that horse grazes in Hill Murrays back yard. Let the hate continue.

Sure there is. They go back to where it all started.....the local association that taught them the game.MHGr8ness wrote:i wood think EP and Edina wood have even more kids making it more difficult. but i think the main point was that there aren't junior golds or 19u's for privates. i don't feel bad tho...HockeyMN1 wrote:Did you see that article in the paper about HM tryouts and what it takes to "Be a Pioneer"? Those that choose to attend Hill and get cut have decided to try make their mark at Hill rather than through their local High School. No decision is without some level of risk.
