Here's my take on 8A this year
1. EGF- very solid with some good D coming back, lawdermilt is one of the better forwards in the section and probably have the best returning goalie in Aubol.
2. TRF- pretty solid defense coming back althougth the loss of Audette (tore ACL in pre-season football scrimmage) hurts, I've been told he may have a chance at playing towards playoff time, some solid forwards back in Ranum and Soderstrom, also hear Crosson is coming back too. Big question is goaltending.
3. Warroad- return Foster in the net and he should be pretty solid for them. Have some solid players back in Gray and Stoskopf, but have a lot to replace but always seem to be around at the end.
4. Crox- Couple solid players in both the Bittner's, goaltending and scoring may be a question mark.
5. RLF- Some talented D-men who have been playing a while in Schmitz and Glass and a talented forward in Zutz, also have a pretty good foreign exchange student that I've seen. Depth and goaltending could be a problem.
6. LOW- Lyon will keep them in a lot of games, but they lost a lot of talent and not sure that they have much coming up.
7. Park- Return a great talent in Sam Coborn, but the loss of his brother and Mcmorrow and a few other guys who have played for a while, goaltending always seems to be a problem.
8.Kittson- Lost a lot off of last years suprising team, always seem to play very tough at home. More than likely low on numbers.
9. Bagley- Lost a good goaltender who seemed to keep a lot of games a lot closer than they should have been, numbers will be a problem.

Aubol is a very good goalie, but Lyon from LOW is probably the best in this section, he put up very good numbers in the elite league this fallGoal wrote:Here's my take on 8A this year

No doubt, Lyon had a great fall in the Elite League, this is not to take anything away from him, but he was also playing behind an Elite League team. Soon he will take the ice behind the LOW Bears so he may have to step up even more and will probably have to steal few games for them.low66 wrote:Aubol is a very good goalie, but Lyon from LOW is probably the best in this section, he put up very good numbers in the elite league this fallGoal wrote:Here's my take on 8A this year

I watched Lyon play several elite games this year and there were several games in which his elite league team was seriously out played, yet he kept them in the game vs. some of the top players in the league, stealing a few. I serious doubt he will face as many top in shooters as he did in the elite leagueAir Force 1 wrote:No doubt, Lyon had a great fall in the Elite League, this is not to take anything away from him, but he was also playing behind an Elite League team. Lyon is the top sr. goalie in Minnesota and I predict you will see his name added to the NHL central scouting services entry draft prospects watch list later this month.
I forgot about Lyon when I said that about Aubol, I realized it when I was writing about LOW.low66 wrote:Aubol is a very good goalie, but Lyon from LOW is probably the best in this section, he put up very good numbers in the elite league this fallGoal wrote:Here's my take on 8A this year

If your a betting man warroad is the obvious choice, but your betting strictly on tradition. If you do a little research though egf has to be the team to beat. Egf was a very solid team last year and word is there cutting kids from last years team to make room for the young talent. Couple young guns to watch this year in egf are gage ausmus and tommy hijchek and think they will have the same impact lawdermilt did on the greenwave last year

6. LOW- Lyon will keep them in a lot of games, but they lost a lot of talent and not sure that they have much coming up
What talent did Lake of the Woods lose? With lyon in net and i believe 12 returning seniors could be a dark horse. Along with the addition of Bitter from Bemidji.

I still believe LOW will be a middle of the pack team, that will steal some games with excellent goaltending.Goal wrote:Still have last years leading scorer Holen... obviously he was playing behind an elite team, but he was also playing against elite players. this is why it's called the elite league. he's a part of it, therefore he's an elite goaltender. that league is known to be high scoring, so the fact that he put up numbers as a goalie really says somethingAir Force 1 wrote:No doubt, Lyon had a great fall in the Elite League, this is not to take anything away from him, but he was also playing behind an Elite League team.
