im not sure "down" is the right word...its more of a "discombobulation" right now...they have played poorly but still could have won any of the three games they played

I say split, but not sure which way.

Hibbing and Grand Rapids are both strong teams and will take both Roseau and Warroad this year in both games although they will be close.

Predictions:

Hibbing over Roseau 5-4
Hibbing over Warroad 3-2 OT

Grand Rapids over Roseau 4-2
Grand Rapids over Warroad 3-1

Should be some great games!!!

Depends on which Hibbing team shows up. Their inconsistency is their worst enemy. I'm leaning towards Warroad by at least 2 goals. The game to watch will be Warroad vs. Grand Rapids. There are to many unknowns for the GR team, so the game could be close or a landslide either way.

Rapids will sweep this weekend and with waroad being down i see hibbing beating them but i can see hibbing running into some troubles against Roseau, Roseau actually has a strong team, they played Minnetonka hard as well as hibbing did, but it will all depend on if hibbing shows up

How do you say they are inconsistent? They had a bad first game and have been playing alot better since.

I agree. First game was pretty awful and thier only other loss is to minnetonka and that was 3-2. I think they have a decent chance tonight.

Roseau at Rapids:

Not overly impressed with Grand Rapids play last night. Too many team defensive mistakes that need to be improved upon to become a better team. Roseau power play was clicking getting 4 of the 5 on the PP. Roseau plays a tough in your face style and does cover the ice well on such a small sheet as Rapids rink is. The game is a confidence builder however as Roseau ranks among the states best programs year in and year out.

This year it appears that Roseau needs to get better D play and goaltending...
Offense, PP, seem to be okay, but they are getting outscored each night...

D-play & goaltending...

With the exception of Mike Lee (last State Championship), Roseau has always struggled in the net for the past 10-15 years...

IMHO...

not sure what happened after the first with hibbing leading 6-2 but the last goal to tie shouldnt have counted for men in the crese. nice sweep for hibbing though!

Oh, I am not begrudging Hibbing their win. With a small squad (numbers-wise) and mostly underclassman, Hibbing is doing very well at the start of this season. Congrats on a weekend sweep of both Warroad and Roseau.

But, still, 5 goals is pretty impressive, eh?
