north carolina 4 shattuck 2
Considering Shattuck is ranked #5 in the US that would have to be considered an upset. Impressive win. I'm not finding a team named Raliegh, or North Carolina, on the US ranking site. I wonder what the proper team name is? A 96 team?

According to Shattucks website. It's not the Shattuck Tier 1 Bantams. It's the Shattuck Bantam A squad. I would check on USA 96 Tier II teams

Area hotels

Post by O-townClown »

Sorry, but I've never been to Roseau. Winnipeg is probably as close as I got.

They've held some pretty big youth hockey tournaments up there. How many hotels are in the area and what is their purpose the other 51 weeks of the year? Do some kids get to billet with Roseau players?

Thanks in advance.

Nice win after a long trip. #35 over #5. I'm sure Shattuck came in pretty confident. Tough pool and tournament.

Shattuck Bantam A's are ranked #39 and the Carolina Team is ranked #50 in USA 96 Tier II .

It's not the Bantam Tier 1's.

Well I will take that back. Looks like it's the Carolina AAA Tier 1 team - but's it's not Shattuck's Tier 1 team.

The Shattuck Bantam A team is up there - From what thier schedule says:

The winter keeps the area business pretty busy...all the youth teams have home tournaments...with the 3 rinks now it is very easy to host 16 teamers. Some teams bunk up in Warroad and even TRF if need be.

As for the off hockey season, Polaris always has some business for the hotels.

This Shattuck team (Bantam A, not the Tier I) isn't 'that' strong.

O Town Clown: May be the best tourney in the state when one combines quality of teams and also the way you are treated in the tourney. Is it a bit of a drive to this beautiful part of the state, yep, but it is WELL worth the drive. The peope of Roseau really come out to support the tourney and make you feel as at home as can possibly be accomplished!!!!! There are hotels in Roseau and nearby that can handle the teams in the tourney. One needs to attend a tourney in Roseau before your son/daughter finishes association hockey.......

ok lets see first thing all teams stay in hotel either in roseau or warroad. the hotels lock those weekends to hockey only way in advance. as for shattuck its their 2nd team but carolina 1st team. roseau played them on wensday i watched the game thought roseau should have won out played them and out shot them but they are a very solid team. i think egf and maple grove have a chance to beat them. that is a very tuff pool.

scores i got some corrections egf beat mapel grove 6 to 3
wisc. fire 6 mankato 0
egan was up 5 to 0 on chaska. chaska came back to tie the game only to lose in a shootout.
suger kings 5 highland 2

Drive? The Carolina Hurricanes had to fly and then still had a long drive! They'll have an experience they'll never forget.

I'd love for my son to have a chance to do this sometime. We'd have to field a tournament team to do that. Several years to plan for it.

Thanks to all. Hotels entirely blocked for the event. Makes sense.

Hockey is truly king in this part of the north country, make no mistake. The bonus is when you can watch and experience a Roseau Rams game while you're there. Just the experience of being in a true hockey town..

funny to see roseau people at the rink at 9am to watch NC & Shattuck...NC's first period timeout was a classic, and ultimately a game winner

also the post above chaska 1 flyers o is wrong fargo flyers won that game 6 to 1.
roseau beat the fire 4 to 1. the fire is skilled but young and small. they wouldnt match up with any of the top bantam teams in the state that seemed clear to me anyway. it was a fun weekend of hockey and thats all that counts in the end.
