Derek Frawley rejoins team
Derek Frawley has rejoined the team. He practiced today and is set to play in the game against Eagan tomorrow night.

I read the Star Tribune every day. I read it because it seems all else is fishwrap. After I read in the STAR TRIBUNE that this kid quit his hockey team my first thought was "shame on you star tribune". Let the poor kid alone. He is only a kid. So called big time program or not....let it be.

The second I read that the coach still wanted him to come back in the star trib I said he'll probably be back in a week and a half. It didn't even take that long. Anyone know what happened to that discipline that he was supposed to have recieved? Is that gone since he went and quit only to come crawling back?

This is a sign of immaturity that will not look good as he tries to move to the next level after whatever happens this season.

Coach Brian Urick confirmed that Derek Frawley "has left the team." on 12-8-10. The article appeared on the HockeyHub and in the StarTribune.
He's only a kid, but it appears he needs some close oversight. The fact that his dad stepped in is not a good indicator of his maturity.
If I was a tonka player I would be really pissed off right now. I'm sure there will be more details to follow...

BB, you are way over the top on this....which makes me wonder about your apparent motivation... Do you believe everything you read in the Star trib (only source) when you supposedly know Tonka. I dont know anything about this kid but I dont think it is right to say because the Dad stepped in it is a sign of immaturity.
He might be very immature, his Dad might be awful, I dont know these things but if anyone wants to negatively judge a kid or a Dad because the Dad is involved in his child's life at 16 or 18 or 20 or 22 is wrong. I know I looked to my parents for advice and wisdom far beyond my 18th birthday. Sometimes I think the hockey "old guard" is way out of line for bad mouthing kids and parents for wanting to be involved in the process and the journey. I wonder if the parents and or kids get labeled just because some "hockey" guy with influence didn't agree with the players and or families interpretation of any specific situation.
I have seen kids futures be significantly hurt due to situations like this where people are labeling kids and parents when they dont have any knowledge of the situation and or people involved.

Nope. I'm a member of a board where I like to converse about high school hockey. Yes, I write about players now and then, but I am very careful about how I talk about an adolescent. In any case, no disrespect to what we do here but, I give the Star Tribune a slightly little bit more respect than this board. Professionally, I mean come on, I am a mechanic....I have been a line cook...never a writer for the newspaper that likely has the largest circulation in the state.
You want to go criticizing some high school kid because he is confused, fine, I likely have...though I am sorry if I did. I tend to hold a proffesional writer at a higher level than I do myself when talking about who is writing what and where. I am still dissapointed in the Strib for publishing such a thing, and I personally would feel a little like a hypochrite for slandering a high schooler....
In my obviously stupid opinion...good for him that he came back, and good luck to him. I hope he learned something from this, and I hope whatever issue he had or has is resolved or becomes resolved.
