I am currently watching a very empty Mariucci arena. The picture quality is immaculate; the best I have ever seen from streaming high school hockey online. I will later comment on the commentating (and the game of course).
The only downer; $8.95 a game. Not 9 bucks for a membership, for a day, a month, or anything like that, but 9 bucks a game. I was looking forward to watching all of the Schwan's Cup finals on Saturday, but it looks like I may be watching just 1; not spending $36 to watch these games.

NSC
Very typical for anything involving the NSC. They overcharge for everything. In fact if you want to go to the games in the Gold Division you can't buy a venue pass for the entire bracket unless your team makes the championship because the 3rd, 5th and 7th place games are at Superrink and the pass is for the Marriucci/Xcel.

Re: NSC
Happy to be able to watch my alma mater, but beyond that, not very great from a technical aspect.
MN Sports Network gives stats along with the time of the period. NSC gives neither. They give the score, but that's it.
Also, the audio and video were off by a couple seconds, so you would hear "goal" or "nice glove save" before the puck even got to the goalie.
5-4 Tonka

Are you serious? In the past the passes have been accepted at the other venues.54fighting wrote:Very typical for anything involving the NSC. They overcharge for everything. 4-4 at the end of 3. Going to OTblueblood wrote:Wow - talk about gouging!
What's the score of the first game?

Re: NSC
I am able to go back and watch the game again. It has a queue for the games I've purchased, so I will probably be able to watch others I buy.HShockeywatcher wrote:Happy to be able to watch my alma mater, but beyond that, not very great from a technical aspect.

Nice feature, still not worth $8.95 a game.

Very unbiased, which was very nice. Overall, the commentating was very nice.karl(east) wrote:Thanks for the report, I was going to ask about this. $8.95 is absurd for a single game online, but I may just fork it over for the East-Edina game tonight. Typical Schwan Cup.![]()
How were the commentators, aside from their words not being synched up to the action?
Also, not sure it's something you like or not, but they were calm the whole time. No screaming for 10 seconds when goals were scored, or yelling about anything that happened, just simply commentating. I appreciated it.
So, everything about it was quite good, but the price is absurd. How many people do you think will be tuning in to watch the Open Cup Final on Saturday? Probably single digits. For $2, I would've gladly watched.

Good--I've decided to splurge on East-Edina, though I think this will be the only game of the tournament that I'll watch. We'll see how it goes...HShockeywatcher wrote:Very unbiased, which was very nice. I figure for $8.95 I can broadcast from laptop to 50" plasma, invite a few others over to split the cost and consume cheap adult beverages. No driving in crap weather this weekend and no $10 (or more?) parking and no overpriced food/drink.karl(east) wrote:Thanks for the report, I was going to ask about this. $8.95 is absurd for a single game online, but I may just fork it over for the East-Edina game tonight.
