HM - EP
I was at Aldrich tonight. It was a great high school hockey game. EP is very good. Kyle Rau scored for EP late in the 2nd to make it 1-0. He's nifty with the puck. He held on to the puck forever in the slot and waited for an opening. Shaughnessy was screened. Rau also wins almost every faceoff cleanly. He took some big hits and was out a few shifts in the 3rd. Guenzel tied it for HM in the 3rd, but EP went back up right away when Gerdes scored. Both goalies were just outstanding. The 3rd period was more wide open and each team had several great chances. HM was the more physical team and was able to hold Rau and the other big guns to 2 goals. They were just not able to get it past Ford on the other end. Well played game. One penalty on each team. I hope HM gets another chance to play them at State.
