Thank you, Hendrickson is a really good HS player, signed to play with SCSU as a sophmore, helped his team get to state the past couple years, however does that make him mr. hockey? I don't think so, he has good size but I see him struggling in juniors and not doing anything at SCSU, if they still take him. He's not that good as some think and is a crybaby.

well I think at the least, if Rantanen gets to be a candidate that's enough of an honor and in all reality when was the last time a high school player in all of Class A was chosen for Mr. Hockey? It might've been Pohl with Red Wing in what 98' (I think)?

I understand where you're coming from though Mankato West does not have the established tradition as many other Minnesota High School programs do.

Typical Hibbing Critic that we are all sick of that doesnt know much about hockey as we all know hendrickson commited as a junior after leading his team in points by a large margin the last 3 years and leading Team North in the fall elite league the last 2 years in statistics also, and made it all the way to New York for the national deal and stated good numbers out there as well, I wouldn't say he will have a struggling future all I see is a hockey player that will help out any team he belongs to and a great college player if he keeps working at it with size and passion. Also i think Patrick Moore from Grand Rapids could likely squeeze in as a candidate with his tough schedule and his consistent numbers .
Rau will be the favorite as we all should expect and agree on.

Whether it's a on purpose or not, many of the most recent Mr. Hockey finalists have been Gopher Recruits, that being said here is my opinion on the front runners for the award;

1) Kyle Rau F (Eden Prairie) UM Gophers
-One of the big highlights of Minnesota High School hockey. He has put up big numbers in big games for the previous two seasons and is at it again with 31 points through 13 games. He is small, but can wheel and score with the best of them.

2) Tony Cameranesi F (Wayzata) UMD Bulldogs
-Tony is an incredibly fast skater and is a great set-up man. He is sitting up at 37 points through 15 games at the moment. Right now, I would say he is the most enjoyable player in the state to watch.

3) Max Everson D (Edina) HU Crimson
-Everson is probably the best overall defenseman in the state this year. He is very poised with the puck, and has enough strength to overpower almost every forechecker coming his way. He is the anchor to one of the best teams in the state in Edina, and had the chance to play for the US Development program this fall.

Next few are in no particular order;

I feel as if there will be a couple class A finalists this year. Based off right now, I think there will be a toss-up between Tyler Heinonen (Delano), Garret Skrbich (Hermantown), Ville Rantanen (Mankato West), Garret Hendrickson (Virgina-MIB)

Wildcards;

I am not sure who will else will get to go to the Rivercentre, but here are some more names that will most likely make it, but will need to end the season strong to get the call.

1st Tier:

2nd Tier:
Seeler EP
Frawley Tonka

Yeah but I believe they were both academic seniors which is what allowed them to win the award, they didn't skip their senior seasons really they just went through high school faster than usual if that makes sense

Nobody wins Mr Hockey on the basis of one outstanding season. Will need to have much greater body of work and strong hockey credentials outside of HS.

By this time of the year (second semester) they have to academically be seniors.
