Duluth East 4
St. Cloud Tech 2
Final
Tech kept it a bit close for comfort for a while, and East apparently decided to do its 3rd period march-to-the-box drill once again. But Tech is better than some people think, and a win is a win. Curious to hear eyewitness accounts--looks like East did a lot more shooting this afternoon than they normally do.
The win locks up East's 58th consecutive winning season.

A lot of shooting into the goalie's stomach.karl(east) wrote:Duluth East 4

Tech played well in their zone and brought a lot of energy to the game. Not to mention their fans who outnumbered and were louder than East' fans. I mean, was every road from East Duluth to the Heritage closed today or what?

East got away with this one. I counted at least two or three pipes hit by Tech they missed a huge opportunity in the third period where Jo Jo was out of position; Tech just missed putting the puck away.
Meh. It's a win.

I like Tech, but but being outshot nearly 4 to 1 isn't going to get it done. Tech is good offensively and in goal but defense is a big sore spot and it gets exposed against good teams.
East seems to have thought it was going to mail this in and that's a bad attitude to have against a team that can score. Tech will have to rely on scoring and solid goaltending to make any noise in the playoffs.
