1/22 Saturday SEC Action
Not too many intriguing matchups in the SEC Saturday.
One exception might be Stillwater at Roseville 7:30
The Section Four #3 seed and 2nd place in the SEC are on the line. A Stillwater victory to go along with the Ponies earlier 3-1 victory over the Raiders would probably secure that 3rd seed. A Roseville victory would put them in the picture for that spot. Both teams have excellent goaltending and play a stingy defensive game, both teams also struggle to score more than 3 goals a game which should make for a very tight game. I look for the Raiders to avenge the early season loss to the Ponies with a win at home.
Hastings at East Ridge 3:00
Two teams I think should be better, yet you look at the standings and there they are at the bottom. On Thursday Hastings lost another tough 1 goal game to White Bear and the Raptors lose a winnable game on the road to Mounds View. Hastings needs to find more scoring depth; they are relying heavily on a very good top line but in this conference depth wins out. East Ridge needs to find a way to win the close games and gain some confidence. I believe the Raptors will gain some of that confidence with a win at home against the Raiders.
Mounds View at Forest Lake 7:30
The Rangers top line has started to heat up a bit recently, they will need that to continue if they hope to climb up the standings and have any shot come sectional time. Mounds View continues it’s up and down season, struggling to put any kind of win streak together. Forest Lake should come out on top with a home victory.
Cretin at Park Cottage Grove 7:30
Two offensive minded teams that don’t play a whole lot of defense. The Raiders should come out of this game with a win, however if they look past this game to their matchup next week with Edina the Wolfpack could earn their first conference victory. I do expect a Cretin win.
Woodbury at White Bear Lake 7:15
The Bears enter this game undefeated and sitting atop the SEC, they bring the top scoring offense and stingiest defense to this battle against the Royals. The Bears however keep finding themselves in tight battles seemingly every game; to their credit they keep winning those games. Woodbury gave Roseville a tough game on Thursday and may give the Bears some hassles but not enough to hand White Bear their first loss in conference play.

If the coaches at ER don't start skating more than 2 lines, they'll never get anywhere. It appears that they don't think their own team is deep enough.WHAFightingSaints wrote:Final

Twenty penalties handed out, including eight for roughing and three misconducts. Hastings top line has a big day with 5 goals and 5 assists. Walz gets the hat trick for the Raptors.

The only difference was their goalie to be honest, White Bear dominated this game as you can see by the shots. The goalie had other ideas.eastside hockey wrote:The only thing different in this game according to game sheet is the 3rd period stats. Oh yeah, and Woodbury didnt let one player score 5 goals this time.wblhcky24 wrote:formerlybackofnet wrote:WBL 4. WOOD 2. SOG WB 46, WOOD 12.
Lot different than the 8 1 win at bjlenberg
Anytime you can break .900 with 4 goals against is pretty goddamn impressive.
Always celly hard.
