Top east side private vs. second tier east side private. One thing I say about all east siders is they will battle hard so this will be a good game but HM will prevail. I'll say 6-2.

So if the second tier east side privates defeats HM, does that make HM 3rd tier?

HM

Those dang Pioneers that we love (or love to hate for some among us). They are raising money for breast cancer research on Saturday.

sorry but hill may have depth but they have an absence in offense. A 17-0 win over henry sibley may have gotten some peoples hopes to high. STA 5 Hill 3

4-3 pioneers final they buried the winner with 1 minute 13 seconds left. From what i saw it was an even game the third period was controlled by sta the other two were fairly even.

2 pretty evenly matched teams. Thought HM was the slightly better team the first 2 periods but STA was the better club in the 3rd. A clean, fast paced game with only a couple of penalties. An entertaining HS hockey game. Nice job both teams.

I called 4-2, even as a Pioneer supporter.

People were silly to call this as a blowout. Just look at the history of the two programs vs each other.

HM had the better first period, was even in the second and STA won the third.

STA did not skate hard like the did last vs. SSM & Delbaton. I know a couple guys were not a 100%, but in general, I thought they just lacked the competitive spirit. Lots of standing around in the nuetral zone.

As for just a couple of penalties, that doesn't mean that the game was clean...as there were lots of no calls. Chicken....officals just need to grow a pair and call the game the way it is played.

If STA keeps this one close, I will be willing to eat crow, but HM will ROLL ALL OVER THEM
Hmmm...

Crow ala mode...
Crow Almondine...
Crow Pie...

I don't know, did you mention your favorite Crow dish...?

hats off tot he REFS who stayed out of the way and called a perfect game..there were exactly 3 needed to be called penalties and they called all three....I think they missed one offsides the entire game..best High School refereed game with significance Ive ever seen..
for the Game Hill played very well and had charge of things doing what they wanted in the zone and breaking out easily in 1st and second, STA goalie #30 sophomore played super well limiting rebounds, nice effort.....and STA took it to hill in 3rd period...Hills line with Bahe leading the play and a great pass willed a goal late to secure the win...

HM - STA

Post by stpaul »

I agree with hhh. This was a great hockey game. Both teams are deep, fast, skilled & have goalies that made big stops. It reminded me of the HM-EP game with the up & down play, lots of scoring chances and momentum swings. The refs let them play but I didn't see any obvious penalties that they ignored. HM had the edge for 2 periods and were up 3-1. STA came out flying in the 3rd and had HM back on their heels. HM's winner by Guentzel was a beauty. This is a big win for HM. Winning the conference means a lot to them and now they have the edge. They will meet again on Feb. 19 at STA. The CSC is a good hockey conference. They are obviously strong on top with the two #1s but Mahtomedi, SSP, Tartan and North are pretty good teams.

Both teams also hit the post. HM end of first and STA in the third.

Great to see #1 AA and #1 A battle out in a game that could have gone either way.

There were many nice plays all game long, however, the prettiest play didn't result in a goal....almost though. As the first period was winding down, the puck was in the STA's end. There is contact along the boards just inside the blue line. The stick of Hill's D (Schutlze I believe) went flying over the glass and landed in a group of HM students. The puck goes down in the corner and the HM player looks at his classmates and they throw the stick over the glass to him. Just as he grabs it, the puck approaches and he fires a rocket that hits the pipe just before the horn sounds. Great demonstration of fan support!

That was amazing would have been great if he scored!
