I think we can put the question of who is the best goalie in Jr Gold A to rest. Stillwater #24 would be a top Varsity goalie the way he is playing this year.

..thanks "poniesdad" but no chance would he be a top varsity goalie
Sorry if I offended you, just my opinion. I have watched some goalies in my time but I am no expert.

White bear has 11 skaters last night...They are a good team, don't sleep on WBL, they have talent and coaching.

Watch out for the floater...

You guys played a good game, I like your team. Both goalies played fantastic. The Lakeville goalie may have gotten lucky, but that glove save on the perfect one-timer in front of the net was awesome. I even applauded him.

Our team? We couldn't score a goal, I think they had the Shattuck Stars in their eyes :)

BTW, I hope your captain is OK. Looked like a hip injury?

Yeah hip injury it is. He has had hip problems I guess and it doesn't take too much for it to get messed up again.

Does anyone know the score of the stillwater-wayzata game last night?

We did not show up and got man handled by a very good Wayzata team (probably the best team in the league) 6-0 - outshot 45-15 - ouch. Glad to see our stretch of 6 games in 9 days come to an end. A bunch of close games - 1 win (beat WBL 3-1), 1 tie (Tonka tied pulling goalie in last minute) 2 losses by 1 goal (empty netter by EP made it 2-0, Blaine came from behind 3-1 to win 5-4, Lakeville held on to 1-0 lead for three periods).

Wow, Wayzata looks like they've rebounded nicely after two losses in a row. Should make the Tonka v Wayzata match up in duluth that much more interesting.

It does, but with the exception of last night and too many penalties against Blaine (gave up 4 PP goals), the kids have worked hard but have stuggled creating good scoring chances and follow up rebound shots keeping us off the board. We have a break from games and have a few practices to concentrate on getting to fire on all cyliders again.

Unfortunately being unbeaten doesn't mean you get the #1 seed automatically in state, nor does it mean you are crowned metro league champion either. Seen too many unbeaten's loose in state n watch from the stands.
