District 15 Mite Jamboree

Post by defense »

In Breezy Point, Crosby. Who's going??? What's your thoughts?? Good, Bad, otherwise??
Personally I like the idea, more common sense than some of the other grand mite tournements. Competing against the district teams. Nice way to transition to Squirts for the ones who move up next year. Just wonder if we are straying from our American Development Model with this type of thing. And maybe if it is too much for mites in an area that generally has associations with only mite house leagues.
Comments???

It is fine. It is not mandatory that you play. The only rub I see is do you bring one team? Who gets to go? Some of these associations have 50- 80 Mites. I am sure that somebody will be upset.

I haven't heard if there is a cap on the number of teams. I have heard that there are 20 teams going, three "levels" of play. We are sending two if that's how many want to go. Cost is minimal, $100 donation per team. Any one else going??

We brought 2 teams - kids had a great time. A cross ice/half ice mite jamboree would also be a fun format and in line with the ADM. I am guessing we will go back next year.
