So there is a 3 page thread on fighting in MSHSL....

Post by Master Recruiter »

and there is an ongoing discussion about the fights that have broken out this year in games, so I make a legit thread asking a legit question regarding fighting in MSHSL and it gets locked? why?

simple question

If two players in the MSHSL squared off and faught, helmets and gloves off, besides getting kicked out of the game, what would the suspension be? season? a couple games?

by no means am I advocating or endorsing fighting in high school. I think there should be a 0 tolerance for it. Im just wondering if it has happened or what the penalties are

I really don't think they would have time to "fight" very long. All three refs would be all over them....

True, I would thikn this would be the case, but arent refs instructed to stay away until it hits the ground to avoid injury themselves?

I don't know about that. The only scenario where I think they could get into a serious fight like that would be in a bench-clearing brawl...

IIRC Dropping your gloves in MSHSL hockey is an automatic three game suspension.

I thought it was only a 1 game suspension for fighting? They really have a rule about dropping your gloves?

That sounds right. I think it should be more in "worse" situations....
