1981 Question?

Post by paulsonj72 »

For any old timers out there in 1981 Apple Valley made the State Hockey Tournament with a losing record. However this was the case because they were forced to forfeit several games in the regular season. I also remember hearing another school was forced to forfeit games that year who made the tourney. Questions include how many games were forfeited, who was the other school and why were they forced to forfeit games and how many games were required to be forfeited.

The only thing I know for sure was Apple Valley had 2 canadian players on the team that were not legal to play. I know this because I played with one of the canadian players in college.

Don't know the other team or number of games...

I believe the other team was Bloomington Jefferson, but don't know the details.

Bloomington Jefferson is correct
Forfeited 6 games because they used an ineligible player from Illinois.

They weren't the only team which had to forfeit games prior to winning State.

Yes me too... good old days memories...

Spar, you might be right, but I think that Ohno played for the very strong Jefferson Bantam team that won Bantam state prior with these high school players...
