East is playing the Brookln Park Pirates and its for sure at Brooklyn Park. Not sure of the date though, you can ask the youtube member that posted the video. They may have some more information about it.

They were known as Park Center back then...It's from either 2001 or 2002.

It was East at Park Center on 12/8/00. East was on their way to a 9-3 win and some of the Park Center boys didn't like it too much :)

East lost, as I recall, three defensemen to game misconducts. They had to play Roseville the following night and still won that game 5-3.

My wife and I attended both games. We thought it'd be fun to hit the Cities for a weekend and take in a couple of East games while there.

We were right. It was very fun.

So close!

I knew Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center merged together; I just didn't know when, but I was in the right neighborhood!

Thanks for the clarification, bubble.

No, it's varsity. Seth Amadio and Zach Fitzgerald were two of the East players involved in the melee. Can't remember who the third one was who got ejected. I'll check out the video and see if I can remember.

Ha sorry Puck, I wasn't trying to correct you...I'm not too sure when they lost that title...but my brother went to Park Center. I used to go to a lot of Pirates games.

I believe #19 was Weston Tardy, and he was the third East player ejected. So they needed to play the next night without (probably) their three best D.

Not trying to trash the kid but that was classless.

Yeah, they were obviously antagonized by the 10-year-old who made the trip down there...

I've seen this one before...certainly a more impressive fight than anything East's gotten caught up in in the past few years, though I hear it's nothing compared to some of the earlier East-Cloquet wars. :)

95-98 at the barn was insane. The fights on the ice in the stands and in the parking lots were expected every game. I graduated in 97 and when the fans had backbones. I don't know what happened but east fans are now pathetic in the aspect of school spirit and aggression. ;)

1994 at the Barn was probably the best melee between East and Cloquet. It happened before the start of the 2nd period (during stretching). 20 guys from each team were on the ice fighting...people in the stands were leaning over the glass taking shots at the players...one of the East players was swinging at that fan with his stick...it was a royal mess.

After all was said and done, each team ended up with 3 double minors for roughing (I still to this day can't figure out how there were no ejections - I suppose because they would have had to kick off all 40 players) ...between that and the subsequent penalties, we played 3 on 3 for the better part of the 2nd period. It also was the reason that for about the next 10 years, teams could not skate together (around the entire rink) during stretching/warmups before the start of each period.

The local access TV station that covers the Cloquet games ran out of tape because the game took so long to finish. I used to have a tape of it, but from watching it so many times my tape ended up breaking a few years ago before I could get it transferred to DVD.
