Hold on, Hold on........that would mean that I AGREE with PPG! in whta world is that possible? I think I need to see a therapist.
If WBL makes it to the final their seniors are going to be on fire. They aren't going to want to fall to Hill and end their high school career against a private school

The seniors from WBL for the past 5 years felt the same way, but...
That was the year Hill lost four players for disciplinary reasons, so I didn't put too much into Stillwater's taking them to OT. At the time, I said that it was the first time Hill was sending the JV to the State tournament.
With that thinking then year after year Stillwater puts a J.V. team on the ice to play varsity teams. In 2008 Stillwater’s J.V. team took Hill’s J.V. team to OT in the section finals…ha.…….but at least they did not lose any players for disciplinary reasons nor frozen feet from hazing like some section 4AA teams.
Everyone realized that if a team was gonna knock Hill-Murray off the top that was it. But it didn't happen & I believe the program became stronger because of it. But that was then.
Several teams will have a shot at knocking Hill off in Sections this year. Could it happen?...sure. The sport involves kids & anything is possible. History has shown that Hill plays their best hockey this time of year & if you really want em, you might wanna watch what ya ask for.
FYI for everyone thinking hill murray is gonna blow out white bear lake... The first time they playd it was 1-0 going into the 3rd. And Mac Jansen didnt even play the first period...

Good luck Pioneers!
I don't think they're going to get blown out either if they end up meeting in the finals. But they definitely were overmatched in that game back in December. Wahlin, Birki, and Mac were non factors and Schletty played very well holding the Pioneers to only 3.
Sager is going to have to take a different approach to this game than he has in the last couple of meetings. They clearly can't match them toe to toe with their speed. They'll have to play much smarter hockey, not gamble too much with the puck in their own zone, and finish on the good scoring chances they receive. Getting the first goal would be huge, and not getting down early would help immensely, since they have trailed in practically every game during the winless streak. The talent is there, now they just have to put a great game together for 51 minutes.
Very True... if sager faithfulley skates 3 lines the WHOLE game and doesnt panic they WILL beat hill

Stillwater gets Corbett back this week. This should boost the offense. If it doesn't I don't see Stillwater moving to the finals or maybe even the semi's. If they score big the first game I can see this squad upsetting the bears and maybe even the Pioneers. As much as I hate to say it, I do believe the Pioneers will mop up this section. I don't care how fired up White Bear that one line will not beat HM. I would say Still has the best shot because they have two goalies that can stand on their head and a solid defense. It will be interesting to see if Housley pulls some more shennanigans with the goaltending going into sections.
agree with gophs1616, I can see Stillwater beating WBL again, but I can also see them getting beat in their first game--was impressed with them early in the year, not so much so lately. And WBL, every year I think they've got a chance to knock off Hill and they never do it. I don't see it happening this year, so maybe it will happen this year. I haven't been to as many WB games this year as I usually do but I've notice Sager seems to be different this year, holding his tongue a bit more, not throwing up his arms calling for a penalty every time one of his players hits the ice, so maybe he's matured enough as a coach to lead the Bears to beating Hill this year.

I would like to see that... BTW, can you play with two goalies and only four skaters during the game?
Sager has not matured... he is under a microscope this year and fairing well so far with a conference title. Not sure the Bears can get by Hill though unless 3 Bear players can beat 3 hill lines
LaValle played and had a hat trick. And, yes, Como is that bad. It could easily have been 25 or 30 if Hill wanted it to be. I don't think Hill's first line saw the ice in the third period and it was obvious that they were passing up good shots to cycle the puck rather than score any more.
