Warriors and Tech

Post by Skip_per »

Section 8AA Round #1
1st period was all Brainerd, we controlled the puck and the game for the 1st period. Josh Archibald kicked it off with a pass from Mitch McLain as he put it past Al Patten of the Tigers. Later in the period with the Tigers on a power play Josh Archibald stole a puck went up the rink on a breakaway and he scored again on Patten. Then still later in the period Aaron Rich came up the side wall and put a slapshot on goal that went upper left side of Patten for the 3rd goal. Stearns has been stern in goal and stopped all 6 shots on goal of which 4 were quality shots.
2nd Period.
The Warriors started out in control and Mitch McLain got a goal assist to Logan Rudstrom. Then Tech took a time out and things changed in the period. Tech picked up the pace and actually ended up outshooting the Warriors in the period 15-10. They were not able to score as the Warrior Defense played very well.
Unfortunate break, Matt Pohlkamp, made a move to the net and tried to split the defense and was taken out on a check, that looked more like a trip, however Matt went down and had to be helped off the ice. It looks to be a season ending MCL. This is not official yet but he has not returned to the ice. Reno Fussy is filling in on this line for now. Apparently he will have an MRI tomorrow.
3rd Period
All Brainerd, as they controlled the puck and the game for the majority of the period. Brainerd out shot Tech 9 to 7 in the 3rd and scored 3 more goals. Aaron Rich got the 1st one, Mason Fussy the 2nd one and with his first ever varsity goal Adam Casperson as a Senior got a break away goal one on one with Patten.
Most Significant is Jared Stearns with a Shutout against the Tech Tigers. What a job he did in net tonight. He gets the defender of the game for tonight.
Good Luck Warriors.

Congratulations to the Warriors, what a well played game.
Hopefully the early diagnosis on Pohlcamp is wrong and he can return soon.
Good luck against Bemidji.

Huge loss for the Warriors if Pohlcamp is out for the year.

That's very unfortunate.
Hopefully he heals up and is ready to go soon.
