This will definitely create some interesting matchups for the later rounds of the sections. South will beat whoever they play by a 8+ goal margin. North should have no problem with Owatonna. Mayo will beat Century as long as the Panthers continue to underperform as badly as they do, (I personally think Century is a rather quality team.). JM should have been ranked ahead of Mayo, and their anger will motivate them in a beating of Farmington.

Second Round:
Lakeville South vs. JM
I strongly believe that JM can pull off an upset here with strong defense and a strong performance from King. Although if South gets an early lead, it may be a long night for the Rockets.

Lakeville North vs. Mayo
Close game when they met earlier in the season. Mayo played Defense and VanGaller was on that night saving 35+. Opinion needed.... Can Mayo upset North this time?

Championship Game may be up for grabs, supposing some good hockey will be played here. South obviously has the best chance, but you never know in High School Hockey these days.

As a Rochester guy I will be rooting for upsets, but Im also a realist. Lakeville South is 5 goals (minimum) better than all the Rochester schools. Lakeville North could get upset by a hot goalie and some puckluck. Here are my predictions:
Playin game
Dodge County 5 over Winona 2
First Round
Lakeville South 8 Dodge County 0
John Marshall 5 Farmington 4
Mayo 4 Century 3
Lakeville North 7 Owatonna 1
Second Round
Lakeville South 7 John Marshall 1
Lakeville North 6 Mayo 3
Championship
Lakeville South 6 Lakeville North 2

Last year in the quarterfinal and later playoff games the only games Big Nine teams won were against other Big Nine teams....

So far Farmington over JM
North over Owatonna
South over Winona
Red Wing over West

Albert Lea and Faribault play each other as do Mayo and Century

Don't understand Mayo putting two 10th graders a man down late in the game and Century scored short handed for the game winner and both forwards were at the red line with their stick in the air.

Goaltending made a difference, Sellnow has been there and looked more confident. Century's 3 non empty net goals were scored by 2 seniors who haven't scored much this season. Rochester kids, in general, don't have much of sense of urgency and it showed with the underclassmen on both sides. Century's seniors won the game.
