30-0 ?
Warroad over Kittson....... Is this info from the Hockey Hub correct?
I am honestly embarrassed to be apart of high school hockey while reading this. IF this score is accurate, I feel sorry for both teams. I hope there is some disciplinary action forced upon the Warroad coach. Someone will come on here and say, "Warroad had 97 shots! What do you expect?" Well guess what. You stop shooting, stop scoring. Someone will say, "Playing keep away is more unsportsmanlike." My answer to that: Move it around and then dump it in. Play your 3rd and 4th line because they aren't going to get much ice time for the rest of playoffs anyway.... Overall, I am very disappointed.

Even if everything was doubled on accident and it only was 15-0...Alot of people will not like me for this but.....
It is not the better teams coaches job to keep the game close. As a coach I would and do not tell me players to stop playing ever. They have worked just aas hard in practice and they deserve to showcase their skills in every game by giving it their all as well. In the end the other team will get over it. That's my belief as a coach to not ever tell me players to stop playing in any sport and any score. Not saying I make alot of friends that way but it only hurts player development to tell them to stop trying and that you can't score. Also can create lazy and sloppy bad habits.
I know most will disagree and say there is a point you need to stop but I do not believe so. At any age and at any level. Sure you can always give others players experience but there is no reason they shouldn't be allowed to go out and play their hardest as well while still playing the style and system, and if that's scoring alot of goals...then so be it.
Starmvp, I disagree by making your 3rd and 4th liners moving it around and dump in. Let them play and have success, do not hinder their ability to perform by putting limits on what they can do.

This discussion comes up every year. Had a lengthy discussion on it earlier this year when Little Falls won 21-0. Most people said it was bad because it was during the regular season and that all bets are off during the playoffs. Pretty surprised to hear any of this talk really.hockeyjunkie2 wrote:Even if everything was doubled on accident and it only was 15-0...Alot of people will not like me for this but.....

Oh well, you'll get people saying things on both sides of this, but at the end of the day most coaches on both ends understand what's going on. My guess is that most who say "it's embarrassing" are those who haven't been in the situation and are just fans of the game.
You teach kids to lose with pride and keep their heads up, but then once they are losing by too much, it's suddenly the other team who has no class and is supposed to disrespect the game and the other team/team's players by laying off

15-0 is okay but 30-0 is bad?old goalie85 wrote:Yes every year same discussion. Every year Still wrong to run up 30 to 0 score.
Unique to hockey, from most mainstream team sports I can think of, is something that would stop these situations from happening assuming both teams were still trying to score.
