He's very good. But he cannot carry an entire team on his shoulders, especially in the NWSC.mghky112 wrote:what about bonner?

Looking at the final season stats for them from last year, they lose 6 players who were in the top ten. By the way, Hill helped out Edina last year as Tonka was the better team.slapshot445 wrote:so the defending state champs (Edina) have hardly anyone leaving and they aren't the favorite to win state next year? doesn't sound right.

Since this has drifted into a discussion of the frontrunners for next year's title, I'll throw in my two cents.
Likely State Title Threats
Hill-Murray
Edina
Eden Prairie
Wayzata
Duluth East
Second Tier
Minnetonka (remember what Edina did last year)
Apple Valley
Maple Grove
Burnsville
After that it starts getting messier.
I'm sure I'll fit those teams into a nicer order around the beginning of the season, but it's a start.

You make my point, the coaches can't handle the pressure situations and so they can not pass on to the boys what is needed to win the high pressure games. It has been the same head coach since the school has opened.mghockey18 wrote:No. If they lose it will be due to not being able to perform in pressure situations. I completely disagree, but you are entitled to your own opinion. This same Head Coach has been to the State Tournament before with a different program, so you cannot say he has yet to accomplish reaching State.mclovin wrote:You make my point, the coaches can't handle the pressure situations and so they can not pass on to the boys what is needed to win the high pressure games. Hard to argue with Karl's list although I'd add Tonka into the top tier. They will have both depth and top end talent. Add BSM to the next grouping.
Regarding Osseo, they will be far from "brutal" if they can keep their team together. Regarding MG, yes, lots of potential. They could be right there at season's end.
This will be a year in AA where there is a bigger seperation in quality of the top 10 vs 10 thru 20.
