Best High School Players from Each Decade?

As HS players I would have to add Gino Guyer to the list from the 2000's, and i'm sure i'm in the minority but I would also have Aaron Ness towards the top of the list.

The problem that I have with having Ness on the list was that he was only elite for two years, his sophomore year when Roso won state and his senior year. His freshman year he was also very good and you could tell he would be special but with him accelerating to get to the Gophers earlier we missed a yeah of watching him play high school puck. Had he not left early than I have no doubt that he would be right up there with Oshie. He may not be a great college player right now or be a great pro, but in high school he was truly dominant.

Anyway, his name has come up a few times but for the 60's I would have to say Henry Boucha

I would take Broten over Housley as best ever. Broten is a winner, Housley is a loser. Although a great player technically, his teams never win anything.

Well if we are just talking about them as HS Players here, neither won a championship. Both played in 2 state tournaments I believe, and both took 3rd place and lost in the consolation final in their 2 appearances.

As far as HS, Blaine Comstock was a back-up to Jim Nelson I believe. Nelson went to UND and Blaine went to BSU and had a great college career and played onm US teams.

Right on. Crowley played with, according to everyone from Bloomington, the greatest team in the history of Minnesota hockey. You couldn't just focus on him or teams would have. No doubt if the entire roster had been picked less one open position and coach Saterdalen had to fill out the roster, he would have been picking Matt Cullen over Mike Crowley. Of course, coach, if you are one of these aliases on this forum, you will deny it, but I know better.

The '75 Eveleth team with Pavelich and Dave Delich went into the Region 7 tournament as a co-favorite with Virginia and Bah Harrington and Dave Joelson, only to be bested by Grand Rapids with Dan Lempe, John Rothstein, Erin Roth, Chocolate Clafton, Bill Baker and others. Those were 3 awesome teams, as indicated by the amount of talent just with those names I can remember.

It's to bad Cullen had to play with a bunch of stiffs at Moorhead. I'm sure the 94-95 teams didn't have any good hockey players.

No where did I call the spuds a bunch of stiffs, merely pointing out that Jefferson at that time was considered one of the top teams in the history of high school hockey.

So I have to stick up for the Big 9.....Eric Strobel won a gold medal and wasn't too shabby for Southern hockey. May take some heat for this post but most of you didn't have to defend him.
