Friday at Plymouth (PIC)

Game 1: Monticello (D5-#1) vs Wayzata(D3 -#2) - 1:15p

Game 2: Eden Prairie(D6-#1) vs Buffalo (D5 -#3) - 3:15p

Game 3: Mpls Park(D3-#1) vs Jefferson(D6-#3) - 5:15p

Game 4: Edina(D6-#2) vs St.Cloud(D5-#2) - 7:15p

I say two D6 teams are on their way to State. And they both start with E.

I like the new Tourney format. Is this the first year of the new format, double elimination with a back door, or was it used last year too?

Last year was pool play I believe. This year's format is much nicer.

The double elim format is what was used back in the day before MN hockey went to the pool play. The double elim format is SO much better than the pool play format, as teams have to earn their way to State. The pool play format was horrible in that many teams were denied a trip to State based on silly tiebreakers. With double elim, it's all about wins and losses.

Good for MN Hockey to recognize this and make the change!

Totally agree the double elimination format truly captures the best teams in each region. You win and your in.. The destiny of these teams is in their own hands.. can't blame anyone for your performance but yourself.

Just gunna say that park is one of the best teams in the state this year and I think they r goin all the way, and I live in Edina
