Nice pace to the game.

Edina's better 5x5, but Blaine's having their way on the PP.

Giles message in the locker room during intermission should be: "Stay out of the box & we're playing Friday night!"

That Edina set-up & the skate save by Malvin is what the state tourney is all about: great plays on by players on both sides.

Blaines Goalie is very impressive...

There was a stat in this game about some kid from LoTW, with a 95% save percentage during the season???

Edina 3-2.

Personally, I thought Edina was the better overall team, but their PK & PP either need to get better, or at least hold serve the next two games.

Was impressed with Blaine and they'll be heard from again with the youth they got.

Thought the game had a good pace and the passing was particularly good for a quarterfinal game, where sometimes the bright lights seem to play a role in sloppy play.

Minus the fortune in the last minute I think the difference was Edina outworking Blaine in the second period. I think this will game will be in contention for game of the tourney because of its fine pace and intelligent play. Kind of a shame someone had to lose really.

Another thing is Connor Girard can give up quite a few long rebounds but over these last two tournaments his defense really has supported him. The final last year was a good example of that.

Also Lou should be real proud of his grandson's play. He is by no means a super talent, but the kid works hard and had two assists to show for it. He seems to have more of a presence on the ice than from a year ago.

That was a very entertaining game and even though Edina probably had the edge in overall depth of talent, I think Blaine was in the game and had their chances to win - both goalies played well and made some big saves. Blaine has some really nice young talent coming up and they could be knocking on the door again next year and hopefully they can find a little more offense to support their effort. Good luck to the Hornets and I hope the Bengals take home the Consolation trophy.
